Given latest QC posted here, it would be interesting to know your view on the “essential” mods needed in order to perfect the watch even further. Some acknowledgement from my end based on what’s been discussed in this here includes:

- DW
- Hands obviously
- Crystal (?)
- Strap (?)
- Waterproofing (given if you don’t trust TDs?)
- Relume (might exclude this if hands are changed)

Please share your views.

- DW: yes, absolutely.
- Hands obviously: a relume is desperately needed on the V9 rep hands, you can install gen hands too, but all pinions need .1mm thinning (PITA) with a H4/H5/H6 mosh up on lengths. Very costly.
- Crystal: yes, by all means.
- Strap: JF rubbers are ok, only go gen Rubber if you have allergies agains the rep rubber. Gen rubber is certainly hypoallergenic, but it can crack after too much sunlight. If you have the extra $400 a gen buckle is always nice.
- Waterproofing (given if you don’t trust TDs?): yes, besides greasing, some gaskets need to be replaced, but it will be hard to match the gen WP: the rep crowns and tubes are just not designed for ultimate triple seal WP.
- Relume (might exclude this if hands are changed): relume for me is the solution to the problem of the weak rep lume and the hand/dial color mismatch on the V9. Go for a 60:40 mix of C1/C3 with 1:1 SL lacquer and SL thinner, with proper drying time and precise applications with no spillover on the indices. All serious V9 owners are cursed to find the best lume artists with the best SL supplies in order to make their watch even wearable. Send to the steady-fingered surgical guys who have already relumed over 20 Diver dials as you want fail-safe, proven technique and materials. Bodgers, newcomers and braggarts should be avoided like the plague when considering an AP relume.

PS: you forgot CYCLOPS. My opinion, yes, absolutely. Along with a DW cut out refinish.

Prof can do a 1AR Cyclops for you or you can get a Mikey 1AR Cyclops. I put Mikey Cyclops in all my divers.

I just got the QC of my AP JF Diver V9. Im not an expert for this kind of watch but from my POV I think the twelve indicators might be crooked :/ ? Could anyone confirm this or tell me if something else is spotable

Looks good to me. I thought the same thing on mine and even if it is its completely unnoticeable on the wrist. I would GL.

Does look like you have the green but unfortunately seems like all of these v9s do so relume is a must for me at least. Other than that it's a fantastic watch. Been wearing mine everyday. Enjoy

I got the same qc pictures for this watch, I had to pass on it because of the 12 o'clock marker and the bad date alignment.

Literally the exact same watch, the same qc pictures with all the same specs of dust in them, from the same dealer.
