Since last year I thought all CNC advertised AP 15202 are really just ZF based modified watches. Its actually a good base to modify, trim to gen specs and then accept a gen movement, dial and all.

TWM and Chazingtime does this on a ZF based watch and they cost close to 9k. I happen to have a Chinese friend helped me source and have this built. He found someone and with his help as the source does not speak English I was able to build one with real CNC case set and bracelet. Gen movement too. Overall a few thousands cheaper too. 😂

I'll be sharing some pics later. 😎

I am sure this is CNC and not modded ZF base as I sent them a link of the gen for reference and they copied even the serial and gave me the exact matching AP guarantee card as well on the gen pics.

Also gave me the rep card exactly what is printed on the gen card. 😂 For novelty purposes. 😂

The serviced gen AP 2121 movement power reserve is about 2 days and date snaps at almost exactly at 12am which is great for people with OC disorder. lol.

The question now is, where to source a gen blue dial? Mostly I see are white ones.

I am in the process of doing a build with a gen dial and CNC case. Best way to know if you have a CNC one is screw size. Have you compared yours to a ZF?

I was looking for gen dial for almost a year. They are rare and cost starts at 5k. I mean second gen post 2012 dials which are only in blue. Hands are even more difficult to find and also costly....

The easy tell for the "real" CNC case vs mod ZF are:

- size of bezel screws / ZF screws are too big - I measured the custom screws and they are exactly mathcing with the AP drawing (which can be found on the web)
- different size / angles of bevels
- completely different type of gasket sealings and mid case construction

I did some quick and dirty photos of the cases here: https://forum.replica-watch.info/th...ve-in-the-works.292955/page-135#post-12067440

Still want to post a full journey with building my superfranken, comparing parts etc. later.

Btw one other "easy" tell between gen and ZF is that gen AP uses special shape of movement tabs to hold the K2121 in the movement ring which sits inside that big gasket. Still learning :) Fpund the gen spec tabs and recently upgraded my watch with them

Thanks for sharing. You have a lot of knowledge. I guess a gen dial is hard to source and expensive. It remains a dream. I also like the 18k RG version of the 15202, I saw CNC of these too and to my untrained eyes they are perfect.

Also quick giveaway your case is a 3 part case but your movement has an engraving on the balance wheel, which was on these watches when they used a monobloc case. Once they switched the engraving was removed.

What I would be very curious is whether anyone has ever seen any rep / customer CNC case with the monobloc case (fixed caseback).
I have checked with my source of the custom CNC case and he has mentioned that they don't do it as it would be too expensive and the demand is low.

Actually do you know if the bracelet is custom cnc made? My source in China who makes the gen spec case set doesn’t have custom bravelet snd rather combines his caseset with the ZF bracelet
