HAHAHAHA the dude! that was an hilarious rant! cracked me up! cheers mate!

studio1one: the ministry of defence here in the U.k are as tight as a ducks ass.
you are lucky if are issued with a new pair of boots never mind about a shiny new watch of your choice!
most of the lads buy our own kit as the stuff they supply is shit. alot of guys use traser or luminox divers with tritium dials but i preferred the mudman (stock btw)
both are very robust tho and used by special forces worldwide.

:D

I'm yorkshire born and bred mate. My old man started his career as infantry soldier in Prince 0f Wales regiment and did two tours of ulster in the 70s

my cusin is serving in some security service atm, he is on a grand a week. hes currently in iraq, but been to botswana and afghan.

dunno what company, my uncle wont disclose much, but every day he is knocking on doors, one day one will open and we will be informed.

i would love to join the cuase but i couldn't get in when i was young enough too, right eye is lazy cant be trained, and they wouldn't issue anything but SA80. so LH shooting isn't done.

No mate a few months, they're a friendly and knowledgeable bunch on the whole though. Before I found this place I used to waste all my money on stupidly expensive gens. Now I've seen the light (or is that the dark?)

I love it when Brits call people tossers. When it's not directed at me, mind you.

+ 4 for gshocks (four for the amount of G's I own). I use my atomic solar to set all my autos. It's arguably the most accurate wristwatch in the world ;).

just before christmas i did a bit of unplanned shopping for my wife while wearing my pam 287 rep. The guy at christian dior was falling all over himself trying to sell me a watch when he saw it. The staff at mont blanc and hermes were pretty damned attentive as well. However, i imagine these people sell scarves and handbags and pens mainly and know next to nothing about watches. I did go into the pam ad that day, but kept it hidden under my sleeve :).

A few months ago i bought a po from narikaa for a buddy. He took it into a mall shop to get the bracelet sized and told me afterward that the guy told him about 5 times what a beautiful watch it was.

I agree it's a bad idea to wear a rep into an ad that sells high end watches (patek's, vacheron's, etc.) those guys are usually pretty knowledgeable. But for f**k's sake, give the op a break. He's new, and like most normal people, probably has better things to do than to obsess about crown guard shapes and lume mixtures. Behaving condescendingly to the op because you have more experience with, or a superior knowledge of, fake watches is just pain pathetic. Get a life, you f*ing tossers. Good on you avenger007 and the others who stood up for m4ttl4ne.

amen brother!!!

amen brother!!!

I agree. I don't see why so many are critical of the OP. What would happen if they thought it was a rep???
Really, I have 4 GENS and 5 Reps..all good or great..and would have no problem wearing it into the AD..
If asked, I would tell them the truth.
I can afford any of them and think one REP ( the BK WM9 YM) is better than some GENS.

NO doubt, 100% sure, it would "fool" them if that is what I wanted, nut I wear it out for drinks, dinner parties and sport coat affairs with a few WIS's never questioning it.

Who gives 2 shits what the AD may think...I actually KNOW you guys (?us guys?) know 10 times more about these watches than any AD I've ever met...the "higher-scale" jeweler the more clueless they seem to be about true GEN/REP differences.

Now the $50 CANAL ST specials...that's a different story

I haven't been on watchuseek for a while! Good group over there though. I learned a lot about good companies with budget pieces like Seiko and Orient, and pretty much anything anyone wants to know about homages is in there too. One member has an absolutely SICK mini fiddy on a strap culture strap, black dial, black lume, black hands, and it looks amazing.

jajaja, that´s absurd! you can wear your rep wherever and whenever you want! its your life and your watch! be confident! And about the AD´s...the people who work there 8 to 10 ours a day showing watches to rich guys, can get an idea of how hard it is to own one of those, so you shouldn´t really pay attention... buttttttttttt... I have to agree with RUI what´d you expected him to say?? jajaja FREEZE!!!??¿¿

You'll learn A LOT with this post! NEVER, EVER wear a rep to an AD'S store. EVER! If there's a force which can spell the end to RWI and reps, it's wearing them into AD'S. Word gets out to some gen makers, already PO'ed at them, they'll act accordingly. Noob mistake. Learn from it.
