I Just Did -- Thanks!

Hey, MickeyPro!

I just bought one of these from TS, thanks to your post. When I receive it, I'll post pics. Also, I'll be getting the gen-like bezel insert thanks to Q5.
Great help, everyone!

It is, but it's a different watch entirely - Bond didn't wear the milisub 5517. His has mercedes hands, not the sword hands, not sure what model number it is exactly.

the watch has characteristics of a 6200, a 6538A, a thick cased 6538 or even a 5510 (depending on whether you discern the depth rating of Connery’s watch as white or gilt) despite what so called experts say about it being only a 6538.
Read all about it here:

FWIW I put the Bond strap question up because it seems in fitting with the style of the 5517, not because I want to try and get a precise Bond rep.

I just ordered one from Mary. Not TD here I know, but I had a Pepsi GMT on jubilee and a Paul Newman Daytona on order from her, so throwing this one into the order saves on postage. Will be interesting to see the QC pics, hope it's the same as Trevor's.

So I was going to order Trevor's 5517 and he is out of stock and only has a 5513. After reading that 5513 may have different inserts and pins rather than spring bars it brings me back to the original question of buying TS's 5517 and calling it a 5513.

Different Configurations:
As mentioned earlier, there were several configurations of mil subs that are considered correct and original depending on the age and batch.
- The 5513 milsub was delivered with either sword hands or Mercedes hands from new
- The 5513 milsub came with either full 60 minute bezel insert or 15 min bezel insert from new.
-The 5517 milsub was delivered ONLY with sword hands and full 60 minute bezel
Closing

The 5513/17 military submariners are very special and highly desirable watches for collectors. The 5513 model was produced in 1977, its specs include: central second hand, self winding movement, waterproof, stainless steel military style case, polishing and brush process, screwed-down case back and crown, black bezel was bi-directional rotating, triplelock crown, fixed strap, 3927187 was engraved inside the case back, tie-axis to fix lugs, black dial, luminescent hands and hour markers, Cal. 1520 movement with rhodium plated, 26 jewels, line lever escapement, single metal balance wheel, shockproof device, free-sprung spring, stopping seconds device, 40mm in case diameter, 13mm in thick.

Where did the watch in this pic come from? I got lost..

Hey guys, this watch looks genuine!
Take a look at how close the T is to the center, the shape of the Rolex crown logo, and most importantly the shape of the bezel cutouts.

PS: First post, woot woot.
