Another Great Transaction with Andrew (Trusty)

No shock to me that things went smooth, as Ive bought 15+ watches from Andrew over the years without incident. The very few times ive had issues with damage during transit or anything else, he has always worked quickly to resolve.

Ordered a PAM 441 Ceramica (VS) for myself and a Cartier Santos (BVF) for the wife. Both arrived well packaged, looking and running great. Already tested them both out including the Cartier band/link quick change system (Very cool/impressive). Also timegraphed both and running near perfect.

Since I know people care about timelines: Placed the order 6/13, QC pics by 6/21, received order in NC, USA 7/6 so about 3 weeks from order to having it in my hand, which is impressive and quicker than I expected.

If anyone has any questions happy to answer.

Some quick pics:

You can email him from his website. I did that and within 24 hrs he was answering all my questions.
I paid for Yachtmaster via credit card this morning but used Revolut and their virtual one time use card, which is great because I don’t have to worry any fraud on my card. It’s a one time use card.
Card worked and got an email saying payment confirmed. So now waiting on QC pics then shipment emails.

I pay by card, but he has other options. Not sure if its better/worse, i like getting the points lol. Definitely would NEVER use an ATM card with anything online (even legit stuff).

I email him all questions, etc. hes very responsive.

It will say in the description what the factory is and hell note in bold and red new features/improvements since the last version. If youre like me and always want the best version available, I find the best way to navigate his site is to go the product category you want (ie Cartier Santos or Pam 44m marina luminors) and then sort price high to low. The best/newest versions are usually the most expensive lol. Well worth it IMO…the quick change bracelet on the Cartier is ULTRA Slick…i think its my wife's favorite part of the watch lol.

Link below is the exact one I got

Cheers for the reply mate. Perfect, I actually used to work for Revolut haha.

For the cartier santos QC pics - anything to look out for? Maybe the letters or placing?

Cheers

Tim mate, last question lol

looking at the Cartier santos 35mm. Puretime are selling for 400 pound (BVF) .. Intime selling for 300 pound (RXW) - which factory would you recommend getting from - obviously a big diff in price - will that translate into quality?

I cant speak intelligently on the difference between the 2. Maybe see if there are reviews here on the differences? There can be MASSIVE differences between the exact same reps so be careful.

As I said prior…I always go for Trusty’s best version. Ive done that for years and it has worked out well for me. In this game you dont want to step over dollars to pick up dimes…saving a few bucks on a lesser rep ends up in a MUCH worse experience living with it (not accurate rep, less reliable, etc) and youll also get MUCH less on the back end if you ever decide to move on from it.

For example Im currently looking at a PAM 1314. Do I go VSF or TTF? Going through Trusty’s site, the VS is the better one. When looking at reviews here (below) VS also the better one. Ive never gone wrong buying the best from Trusty…the free market does its job setting prices.

I dont know your specific situation though. If money is tight then do whats best for you, but if you can afford it and are just trying to save a few bucks, I would say to go with the best, in the long run you wont regret it.

I bought all of these (except 2- 1 gen, 1 tough to get that another TD had at the time) from Trusty over 20yrs and have never had a bad experience…ive had a few issues, which is to be expected…you arent buyimg gen w warranty lol (some stuff arrived with issues, broken bracelets, 1 or 2 movement issues after a couple years, etc but hes always found solutions to fix that made me happy).

Tim, thank you again for the detailed response. Just recently got into the rep scene. You're collection is amazing mate - seems like you've made some good choices - hence me asking you a few questions haha.

The thing is i would buy from Trusty but the only Cartier Santos 35mm they have is from 3K factory, they do not have the BVF cartier you got from them. Only Puretimewatch have the BVF one you have - hence me looking at that. Im not fussed about price I just want the best piece. If you say your BVF is holding well - I may just get that! The Trusty 3k one is near enough the same price, so maybe the quality is the same. Decision decisions decisions.

Tbh if Andrew has good communication and would reply in these forums etc I wouldnt mind going with Trusty. Will decide by Tuesday and make the plunge

Thank you again for your replies mate!

Thanks, the Rolex is a deep sea dweller, dial goes from blue to black, depending on the light it looks more blue or black. Details on it are insane, theres a teeny tiny rolex crown etched into the crystal that you can really only see under magnification and with a flashlight on it lol.

Yeah, they last forever, especially if you have a swiss movement or Japanese Miyota (Cartier I got the wife is Miyota). The majority of the watches in the picture are 10+ years old, a few 5+ years old and 3 brand new….all run fantastic.

I have a lot of chronos which have the Asian 7750…its not known for being reliable and a lot of people hate them, but Ive never had issues really. I think 1 or 2 had problems years ago and I sent them back to Trusty to have his watchsmith repair them. Asian movements are also really cheap (some manual wind are like $40 lol) so if it breaks and a service wont fix it (usually will) you can have the movement swapped out (ive never had to). There are a lot of great watchsmiths here if you ever need a repair and dont want to send it back to the TD (takes forever and customs risk). If youre concerned about longevity look for Swiss ETa or Miyota movements….thats basically gen IMO. Only a few brands make movements in house (AP, Rolex), most of the others use ETA movements and modify them for looks.

The watch below I got in 06….runs almost PERFECT as shown by the timegrapher app. Has a swiss ETA mvmt.

Happy to help any way I can if you have more questions, feel free.

Btw…there are a lot of great TDs and they generally have access to the same stuff. So buy with confidence from any of the TDs on here. I dont want to seem like an advertisement for Trusty lol. Hes just who Ive always used, I believe in building relationships, and the long term value of that, and hes never given me a reason to go elsewhere.

What contact are you using for him? This is what I was using to go back and forth with him a couple weeks ago on my purchases ([email protected]) and he was very responsive (every email got responded to within ~12 hrs or less)

Thanks for the response!

I had replied to ([email protected]) the 'payment received' email from him.
Just tried again, to all known emails he sent from or provided, including the one you mention -- I'm hoping it works :)

Thanks again, really appreciate the help and confidence!

P.S.: I recently ordered from two other (China-based) dealers, which went flawlessly (I posted reviews for Chazingtime and Dealerclocks) after finding RWI and the 'Trusted Dealer' section (thus also the above order with Andrew).

I got burned twice by scam dealers (Internet finds, not RWI trusted dealers) before, trying to get an all-functions-working Breitling TransOcean Unitime with mesh bracelet, which is not on offer from most trusted dealers on here, so Andrew is sort of my last hope :)

nice, good luck.

Another tip: most TDs dont do a great job of updating their website for what is and isnt available because of the frequency and unpredictability of raids, etc so you always want to email them first and asking if XYZ model is available before you go through the purchase process. Ive had situations where ive put in an order, sent money , and then heard back from them that it isnt available and I had to settle for something else, which SUCKS when you have your heart set on something specific.

IDK how responsive Andrew (Trusty) is to those other emails. The one I provided is the one ive always used and hes always been responsive to.

Hello Tim,
thanks again - using the email address you suggested did work, and Andrew has already responded!
It appears one message between us got lost, and he was waiting on feedback from me.
Glad it turns out this way!

This is exactly what happened ... the message Andrew sent (which I missed somehow) was his question if I want to switch to something else, as the specific model has no delivery timeline due to said raids.

I will only use that email address you gave from now on :)
Again, thank you so much!

Great! Glad it worked out...i was surprised when you said he hadnt responded given how good he normally is about it.

And yeah, the in/out of stock thing is an unfortunate thing about this hobby that every TD deals with. I dont think they have the resources to really keep the site up to date with so much stuff going on. Emailing first asking if something available is also helpful because, if its not available, you can ask if there are other similar items they do have access to and sometimes theyll offer up stuff that isnt on the site yet (that has happened to me before where i ordered something newly released that wasnt even up on the site yet).

Another tip: Get on the TD website distribution lists (you can do it direct from their sites, just put in your email). Some of them change websites frequently (what they do after all isnt exactly legal lol) so that way you always have their newsletter emails in your box and you can click the link to their site vs having to search here for the new link or worse (def dont EVER recommend) searching google (will likely direct you to scam site). It also gives you insight into new releases and special offers/deals they run.
