I love it. Am new to the forum and it's nice knowing that an individual like @j21 is in this hobby too.

Right. Rather than turn this into another gushfest, gotta give credit where it is due, with a quick post.
The OP, @Gooner27, who some of you will probably recognise as the 'guy with the GIFs', well I am proud to call him as a friend, a crazy one no doubt, but a friend, with a very kind heart.
Similar to @j21's very generous gift, I also received a little care package in the post today.
He won't take a cent (even for express postage, which is ridiculous for a strap) and threatened that if I sent anything, he would carpet bomb both my phone and every future sales thread of mine. If any of you have seen his Looney Bin posts, that was a risk I was not willing to take. But one thing about the Irish - we always pay our round, so, till next time....
As for what was in the care package, some funky new kicks for my 15500

He also sent me advice and videos on strap changes. And yes, it did take me 20 mins to change a strap, nerve racking tbh, especially when the screws are the size of a piece of lint, but the end result is , and I can proudly say I didn't mangle a single screw, I think.
Some would say it looks like a 'Baby Diver', the rubber certainly gives it a very different look, more sporty imo.

Bumping this thread, and it's not full necro, yet, so think I'm ok, kinda, but am doing so, because perhaps this can be the random RWI thread for members to just say thanks to other members for being awesome - feedback is feedback, its transactional, but genuine kindness is something different imho. I dunno, either way, that's what I'm doing & it's done now, so
So I'll set the scene:
It was a normal Sunday, start of October, am out for a drive, heading for family lunch & ping, the phone beeps - what's that I think, maybe another n!pple pic thread or trump gif....
Nope, way way better - its a message from the one and only @p0pperini
Interesting....it's an RWG link, but, damn, I'm not a member, so I can't see it, which make it even more interesting (note to self to signup, again, am a terrible procrastinator though) but what followed was an awesome series of events.
Because this was not a:
"Hey P, this may be of interest to you, hurry, gonna sell quick" type of message.
This was a:
"I just bought this, with you in mind, but if ya don't want it, tis all good, one more for me"
type of message (paraphrasing because he is way more articulate than me)
Straight away, I just thought wow, how cool is that & what on earth did I do do deserve such thoughtfulness and kindness, from someone I have never actually met.
Naturally I showed my missus the pics he kindly shared & as usual her eyes just rolled to heaven "like whatever, another one & why is it so big?" - [she's never said that to me before ]
Now why did he do it.....
Partly I think it was so he wouldn't be tempted to photograph and sell one of his beauties (afterall it was his awesome thread that drew me to them in the first place) but mostly I think because, well pardon the language outside the L00ney bin, he is a FKN legend, full stop, a succinct & apt description of his character.
A genuine man (absolutely no pun intended) an old school gent, excellent member & am definitely honoured to have made your acquaintance, albeit virtually, thanks to this great forum.
A man who's word is their bond, certainly a dying breed, but from what I've seen, not on this site.
Thank you again & one day I am sure we shall share a pint, or a cuppa, or a couple of pints, or a couple of cuppas, ya get my drift though
For now, gush fest over (head to L00ney bin for proper gushing, sorry Boss) so in the meantime please enjoy the pics of this behemoth, I know I do.
And yes I know it looks pure ludicrous on my puny wrist & that's partly why I love it (next step is to source a mesh strap so I can look all bada$$ like @Raddave does)
P.s. I also wanna give a shout out to my great friend @g00n3r who, while in the UK recently, took a delivery from my brother, & then shipped it safely to me, within the EU (F U Brexit btw) which meant I got this well before the expected Christmas visit, so thank you again.
I know the UK postal strikes were a pain in the h00p, and never again, but know that I really appreciate it!
He also kindly provided one of his signature picturesque pool pics, ya all know the backdrop.

I'll finish up by saying what I've said since shortly after discovering this forum.
RWI rules because it's membership consists of these type of gentlemen - that is the only thing I am 100% certain of on here, everything else we can / will argue over.
You all know we never agree on anything, that's half the fun of this place tbh, but ya have to agree this place is an awesome community, of members all across the globe.
And on that note, am off to the gym to strengthen my left wrist, am gonna need it with this bad boy.

I remember seeing @p0pperini's comment on the sales thread over at RWG saying that he was buying it for you! I know it's been said a million times but stuff like this is why I love this community
Knowing there are people out there that have your back and are willing to stick there neck out for you is what makes this community so incredible, a great example would be the good man himself @P..DR..D
Just recently, I spotted a watch on m2m from a seller based in Germany who was reluctant to sell outside of the EU. I mentioned this to P and in a heartbeat offered to receive the watch on my behalf and then ship to me. The deal did not go through but the fact that he was so willing to inconvenience himself like that just shows his character, and this is not the first time he has done something like this for me either.
I've said it many times before but @P..DR..D was one of the big reasons as to why I kept returning here in my early days on the site due to his selfless attitude, always willing to help point me in the right direction and drop some knowledge when I needed it....

I would like to thank all those who enjoy the hobby and don't take themselves too seriously. Who also understand and accept each other's point of view even if you have a different opinion. I appreciate an honest and factual exchange.
Yesterday I had to make the experience that unfortunately there are also people here who want to improve their self-esteem by stirring up the forum in a negative way. You have different experiences in life and you can't put your own stamp on every situation. Do yourself a favor and don't respond to these kinds of provocations. These people are looking for attention that they don't seem to get enough of in their lives. I understand that there are days when you don't run smoothly. That's perfectly fine. The one who is in a bad mood should only think about whether he actually understood the other person correctly before trying to provoke an unnecessary argument.
With all the praise, that also needs to be said.
The forum is there to exchange ideas with other watch enthusiasts and not to spread bad vibes. If I offended anyone, I sincerely apologize. I wish for a forum that is free from envy, hate and resentment. If the good ones stick together, the toxic ones will go away on their own over time.
Furthermore, I am very happy to read about such good deeds. It fills me with joy and confirms my opinion of this forum and its members. Everyone has a responsibility to keep this forum fun, open-minded, and a fun place to talk about watches. We should put the Forum's reputation first!

I've gone through 5 years of your average watch collectors watches in just over a year, so thanks for that
