I don't see too many 7 year old's wearing watches. You were really wearing a watch at age 7?

I'm sure all of the Gen Omega Rolex, Panerai, AP, Hublot, Tudor.......watches are built and marketed for 7 year old kids who can afford them. :nah:

........and another thing I don't get is watch lume. Why does it have to be so bright? It hurts my eyes and makes my eyebrows curl up. Which is really annoying. Have you ever had your eyebrows curl up? I have, and it's annoying...........

Q5? "What's that Dealer?"

Dealer "It has Super Lume."

Q5? "Na...I'll pass."

Dealer "Why?"

Q5? " Because I don't care about lume so I stay away from those that have the better lume."

Dealer "Okay."

I would add, I have evolved over the years to buy some of the super reps, just to see what all the hub bub is about. I will also freely admit that I can't resist a bargain. I will agree that prices have gone up and it has affected our bank accounts. But the reps are getting better too. I have a few 21j watches in the secret drawer of unfinished parts and projects and a couple are still working, but it's the junky shiet ass crowns, crystals and other parts that don't last me. At least I can buy a gen parts to fix some of the "upper crust" reps that are closer to gen. I can't say that for the watch cases that the plating has come off or the crystal that is scratched up. ;) Just sayin. Oh and the new 243/Noob/7750 is quality, buy it, it'll last you years as well.

If luminesence is the most important thing on a watch I've got a suggestion. Buy an LED display :biglaugh:

Or one of those Timex Indiglow or whatever they're called.

Exactly how much time does one spend in the dark looking at watches, unless you're a full-time cinema usher waiting to get off work of course :biglaugh:

I do remember being fascinated with my first Timex glowing in the dark, but then I was about 7 years old

LOL good one

Oh here we go. It's a forum FFS. You know, a place for debate and discussion. Kind of lazy to just throw up a 'Do not feed the troll' smiley.

There is a middle ground. I wouldn't send my watch off to be lumed for what, around $100? The new reps with super lume going for $250 is ample enough.

I'm sure not even many people here would be able to tell the difference between a $250 pam and a modded $1000 pam.

Timex, I may have been 7 or 8, maybe 9. Don't take it literally. I may have just put 7 years old to add to the comedic comments.

I remember a kid at school had a Kojak watch. You'll probably have to Google that. That Kojak watch and the lume on my little Timex are my first watch memories

Why laugh at people who like good lume on their watches?

Why not? Is humor not allowed on this forum? I hereby apologize to anyone's watch I may have unintentionally offended. It's just a discussion, debate and hopefully a few laughs along the way. No?!?!

I'm honestly not sure why you bother buying reps in general.

I'm just happy that reps have such a wide range of prices. It's what makes these forums so great because it attracts all walks of life. Keeps us REAL.

I've bought sub $100 reps, 2,3,4,5,6, $800 reps... I've bought $1,200 reps, I've bought $2k reps... Pretty much experienced all price points.

I've also bought $100 gens, $500 gens, $1K+ to $3k to now $4k+ gens. I haven't broken the $5k yet though.

Soooooo... From my personal journey comparing first hand and owning these pieces I have a fair assessment on quality to price and what to expect.

I also have a serious quality issues and I'm not talking about accuracy to gen. Gen crystals, gen dials, gen hands, gen inserts, gen bezels, gen crowns... Etc all are good upgrades and NOT because it's just more accurate.

Anyways I got my brother his first rep.... An AP Diver V2 SWISS with no mods and I am absolutely shocked how nice it is. It isn't my style but I love what these factories are coming out with. He already wants a lume job and it isn't because it's more accurate to him but because this watch deserves it! He's still very happy about it and can't stop looking at it. He also agrees that at the $300 price point there are no gens that look like this, bling like this or even built to such quality.

Around that price its still common to see mineral crystals and quartz movements.

Fake watches are fake but that doesn't mean they can't be quality watches. I honestly don't get your argument at all.

So because it's fake we should lower our standards????

I did read the thread. It was just you spouting that paying over $100 is idiotic cause they are reps. We get it, but you clearly have lower quality standards than most of us.

As for your love hate thread... I'm not gonna get into that.

Fair enough. I love it when a long term forum user writes 'we' instead of I, to add weight to his opinion.

but I'm not going to get into that, heaven forbid, on an open internet forum. Enjoy your watch, it's your money and your taste. No harm, no foul. No need to get all indignant, there's some humor in there too

Actually I wrote that in reference to the fact you kept repeating your opinion over and over again to the forum hence I said "we get it.. "

But that is a classic thing to say on a forum when you got nothing else left. What next? You gonna attack my grammar?
