Hey guys,

Sorry if this question has been asked a lot — I’ve read quite a bit but I’m still not totally sure. I’m looking to order my first replica watch. I haven’t seen the genuine version in real life, but I really love the design. I’m especially interested in the Pelagos FXD, including the GMT version.

The thing is, I’ve come across quite a few comments saying that the dials on the replicas are noticeably off in color compared to the gen. Since I’m not a watch expert, I’d really appreciate your input.

Based on your experience, which version would you say is the most accurate? I truly like the watch and would love to wear it, but I’m wondering — is the difference from the gen really that noticeable?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

I personally like the FXD M.N. and, to my own surprise, the GMT.

The "closest" to GEN FXD is the black one, which I personally find the most boring.
The M.N. has proper colors, but the white indices on the dial and the bezel differ a tiny bit in color.
The GMT's main flaw is the position of the date window, as it's too far inward.

All that said, in real life, on the wrist, all of the FXDs are great watches that will pass as GEN unless scrutinized close up by somebody in the know.

P.S.
If you like the styling of the Red Bull, go for it. That watch doesn't resonate with me. Its main flaw is the material of the replica.

And read guide in my signature.

M+ the only choice.

More research less spoonfeeding :)

Just one question — is the movement on this watch loud? Maybe someone with experience can share? :)

I am daft enough to have the blue one and the black one, also have a Tactical Frog Solar version of the Red Bull rep that has 3 working subdials. I plan on getting the GMT eventually. I don't find the automatics that noisy but it's worth bearing in mind that the early versions have the cheaper Miyota 8N24 with the crown stem problem. My blue one snapped the stem in about 3 weeks of ownership and is currently getting a movement replacement. The Black one hasn't given me any problems so far but if it does I'll get the movement replaced on that too as it's the only rep in town of this model. The later versions have the tried and trusted NH34 movement so go for that on if you have the choice. Don't be put off it's a great rep!

some of the dealers said to me there is only Miyota 8N24, are you sure there is NH34 movement?

If you just want a watch with fixed lugs, consider the Tactical Frog. It's a fun watch that is much more substantial than the pricing would suggest (I recently paid 140 Euro including shipping and taxes).

The M+F rep is optically closer to the gen, but also not perfect. Also keep in mind, that the gen has a proper 4Hz movement, while the rep comes with a slower 3Hz movement.

There is no nh34 version. Tactical frog and the rep uses slightly different cases, the crown is not aligned with the crown guards and sits a little lower on the rep version. Nh34 and 8n24 does not have the same measurements anyways.

I believe the Tactical Frog case also has a slightly smaller diameter than the M+F (it is smaller than the gen for sure).
