How do you double AR coat the crystal? Or you send them to a certain rwi member to get them double AR coated?

Also the crystal is supposed to be sapphire which is scratch resistant right? Or not really sapphire?

Sent from my HTC 10

Double ar means one coat inside one coat outside. The outside coat is prone to scratching.

Yes you send it to the prof.

The number on Gen dial ESP 1, 11 , 12 etc are one size bigger than the rep VSf dial. Other than that this 441 is perfect btw any ideas on where to buy gen Panerai parts and. How much would cost for gen Dial I have enclosed photo to compare

Risti market would be your best bet for parts.

I have a DLC PAM386 that I love...but really curious of the quality of this 441 compared to my 386. Dont care much for the GMT, but more interested in the quality of the ceramic case vs the DLC coating.

Great solid case. I presume it has to be lighter than the 386 as that's a dlc case. I did get a scratch on the ceramic, but it seems to blend in very well and not obvious at all!

Yesterday I finally got mine, but very unfortunately the watch is broke [emoji20] [emoji24]!
First I wound up the watch a bit and noticed that the balance wheel didn't spin at all. Then I shook the watch in order to get the rotor spinning to see if that has an effect. Ok, the rotor revolves very freely, actually extremely freely as if it has no resistance at all. But also this didn't have any effect. Then I tried to adjust the time and when I pushed back the crown after setting, I saw that the balance wheel began to move! Success?
... No, because after about half an hour the watch stopped again!

So I repeated the whole maneuver and again, the balance wheel just wouldn't do its work[emoji30].

Guess I have to open a ticket and ask for replacement.

Besides that, from the looks, the watch is flawless... Dammit.

Hey guys! Today I received my QC pics from the TD and everything looks great. I did catch one thing that I was wondering about.

After heavily studying the gen & rep pics at the beginning of this thread I realized the position of OP on the back bezel is off on my QC photos. The back bezel is threaded and can be removed per photos I have seen in this thread.

The question is, should this be a problem? If I loosen (or tighten) to line up the Officene Panerai in the correct position do you think I will have an issue with the rear bezel being loose?

I believe the caseback engravings do not set on the exact same locations.

The caseback does not align that way. It's mostly a rendered image that you are seeing.

So I'm getting conflicting messages regarding the crystal, my friend says it looks off compared to gen. Is it? haha

Hi,
I was about to buy a 438 with Seagull because I liked the black/dark grey movement (not to mention the ceramic bracelet since it can be bought separately) but now, with this more accurate movement (wheel at 7), I have hesitations.

Since 441 and 438 are almost the same watches, does anybody have any insight into whether VSF would soon release a 438 rep ?

He's right and tbh I haven't seen a single rep where the crystal looks exactly like the gen, pam or otherwise.

Maybe some of the sinn reps, but apart from that none are perfect cos gens mostly use lovely expensive sapphire crystal whereas Chinese copies use cheaper crystal and it's quite clear in close inspection, it's one reason why many of us double AR our crystals just to look as good as some of the gen single AR ones

TBH watching this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXUcd5Y6rFo&t=278s and comparing to my VSF 441 I really can't spot a difference between the reflection unless his is a rep as well. Having said that, I'm loving my 441 to bits just need to discover a less formal strap for everyday wear.

Well exactly is a rather strict requirement. Crystals however good they've gotten lately, will never be exactly as gen. But to say it "looks off" is a rather subjective statement without a quantifiable amount by how "off" the rep is. Yeah, you may own a gen PAM, but without the exact same watch, this isn't an apples to apples comparison, gen PAM crystals tend to change from model to model, year to year.

What he said was that the reflection looks different, he said that as soon as he moved it under a light, looks plasticy. But at first sight he asked if it was a gen.

He has several Gen Pams, Rollies etc.
