45.5 mm Noob CRPO vs GEN!

One more nit I'll add to this excellent review is a difference I've noticed on the bezel inserts.

- On the 45.5, the numerals are just a hair further from the sliver printed ring than gen. It's most noticeable on the 50 and 20 I think.

- On the 42, and this has been noted in past reviews, the slilver ring is just a bit too thick.

Also, print quality on the reps suffers from lower quality. On my 42, really close up, I can see some minor imperfections that I'm sure the 6K gen doesn't have. Thankfully these are hard to see without a loupe so it doesn't bother my eyes.

Yes + the font thickness is different.

Did you check the waterproofing of the rep? I want to use it for swimming if it possible.
Today I received the QC pictures from Jordan (Intime), I'm excited :)

Last week I just decided to try if it keeps water or not. At least works under running water but I have not yet put it underwater for swimming. I checked the caseback seals though. I am only worried about the he valve. It works perfectly but seems even too easy to close (without any friction from the seals).

The Gen valve seems to be "harder" to close? Maybe on the Rep they forget the seals? Or it's another construction?
Somebody know, how is sealed the He valve? I didn't find answers / or pictures about this..
Thanks.

I'm interested in that as well!

The He valve screws off completely? If you look inside you will see the movement? Or it's only a "fake" hole? If it's a fake hole, then no need sealant ring.
Somebody with noob edition please check!
Thanks!

OK, I just checked my watch.
- the HEV cannot be unscrewed completely, it takes about one whole turn counter clockwise and then it cannot be turned further
- cannot tell without opening case and removing movement whether the HEV penetrates into the case
- HEV screws and unscrews very smoothly, so smooth in fact that I doubt there are any water sealing gaskets
- I had heard from other members that the HEV does not pierce the case but don't know for sure

So I probably didn't do much to clear the air on this but that's my two cents. I can say I've taken countless showers and dunked the watch many times in water with no water ingress but that proves little.

Surely someone by now has opened up the watch and seen with their own eyes?

Thank you, captaincaveman!
I'm sure, someone opened their CRPO Noob edition... Because it's adviced to grease the gaskets..
Nobody did it?

I have now put my watch under water and no problems. But still proves nothing. I will swim with it in the summer, that is for sure ;)

Again I have doubts if the rep crystal is good (enough), genuine is clearer for sure. I noticed that after 2 days of wearing the rep and then putting the gen on my wrist. Still this rep has about the best crystal that I have seen on a rep so maybe I just forget how the gen looks like when it is sold :)

Finally arrived! Looks amaizing! I took to an AD shop to test the WR. They tested on a Witschi tester and pass the 100M test! So no worry, but it's adviced to test it!

Great, enjoy it!

The more I wear this, the more I think it needs a new crystal...the AR is pretty good but it seems that the crystal might itself be of low quality. When comparing to my SOH V2 with updated AR, the AR is at the same level but the overall feel is a bit foggy. Definitely a lot foggier than the genuine. I sold a genuine 2500 crystal some time ago and now I really regret it! Because the crystal sits on this rep a bit higher than in genuine, I will install a 2500 crystal as it is thinner than the 8500 crystal.

Now just need to find one!

I have had several UPO crystals with my best AR but somehow I have sold all of them, as well as my genuine one from my old Franken UPO :( Every time I think I don't need them any more and after selling, it only takes 2-4 weeks and I buy something that needs a new crystal :)

The 2500 crystal is straght fit without any modifications? Same diameter, same gasket?
I'm worried about the Rep AR coating, seems to scratch easily...

I had a genuine 2500 crystal installed into my BP CRPO so I am confident this also takes it. Rep gasket is the way to go.
