I received today a new watch : a 42mm PO V5 with a DG4813.

I must say that I'm really happy with it. Two things to notice, as read everywhere, it's not that easy that reduce the length of the bracelet but with the right tool you can do it !! And the claps spring needs a little adjustment to close correctly. But once you said that it's great.

I'll see the behaviour of the DG4813 in the next weeks

Great buy!
I've got two watches with a DG4813, and in the 3 month I have had them, they've ticked flawlessly, keeping both excellent time, within COSC requirements ! No reason for this movement not to deliver for you too!!!

Whats up with the DG4813? Where can you get this, and what is the difference between this and the other movements that come with the 5th Gen PO's?

The 4813 is essentially a high beat 21j. I was looking into swapping one into a PO a while ago but dismissed the idea because of possible reliability issues other members warned me about. Off the top of my head, Perfect Clones had 4813-powered POs but I'm uncertain if they're V5. They're also not trusted status here (but they are on the Geek) so buy at your own risk.

I've had at 42mm one of these with the DG4813 for about 5 months now. It only gains about 40 seconds every 3 weeks - so it keeps outstanding time.
The rest of the watch is exactly as best I can tell like the watch that has the asian ETA clone in it. The 45.5mm one with the "happy feet" that I have has the ETA clone and out of the box anyhow the DG4813 keeps better time.

As mentioned before in the movement section, dg4813 is the over-clocked version of asian 21j movement running at 28,800 bph.

Where did you get this from? I much prefer the dg movements over the clone ETAs. Might get one of these for myself too. Thanks in advance!

I heard this before.... but 21j is so vague... but it also means cheap asian movement. So does the DG28XX series belong there or is it more reliable and better movement.

An interesting thing I learned is that I went to my watchsmith and usually he doesn't like servicing or fixing 21j movements. I said I wanted the movement swap out of my noobmariner and he opted to service it... and this was my DG2813... maybe they are better build and better quality then the canal street 21j.

My idea of taking this PO with the DG4813 (a High beat version of DG2813) was if it doesn't work anymore, the best solution is to simply buy a movement and change it, this will probably cost less than a Asian Clone or ETA version.

I'm really happy with it for the moment (OK only 2 days...).

It's allvrelative to the condition/environment during assembly. Ti use the word "cheap" is not so accurate. Maybe inexpensive?

A little insight on the maker of the so called 21j movements: here

I have only heard good things about these movements, so I trust them over the clone ETAs where you have no idea who makes them. Although it is still possible that the cloners are also cloning the dg2813, it's less likely since they go for <$20 a piece retail.

Just my 2 cents, sometimes cheap does not necessarily mean "cheap". :)

But is it just me but doesn't the "21j" have a bad stigma? Meaning it's a cheaply made movement with cheap materials? Sorta associated with Canal Street Cheapies?
