3K Aquanaut review

ZF, depends which batch you get though. My 3k clasp engraving was wonky.

so to summarize the last three pages, please correct me if i am wrong:
- 3K aquanaut with stainless steel bracelet to make sure you do not have the engravings on the lugs
- ZF rubber strap or if you have the extra cash source an oem strap (code: C09, D31, C74 in 21mmx18mm)
- ZF buckle
- KMF clasp
i am already to deep down the rabbit hole to just order "a normal aquanaut from 3K" and be satisfied
sometimes i hate this place full of perfectionists haha

Nice! I’m just going with the 3k strap. I’m not really a perfectionist (frankening/ adding on) when it comes to a rep that is already extremely well made. Plus this is on the higher end of price. But I can totally and always understand why people want it to look as close to a gen as possible for a few bucks more. Like so many people have said before 99.9% of people won’t ever be able to notice the differences. Let me know how you like it! I got my QC sent today and gave the GL so hopefully will have pics to post soon
Hey! Off topic slightly but mind if I ask which TD you went with and how long it took for QC pictures to be provided?
Asking as have sourced from Andrew @ Trusty but have been waiting well past 5 working days - understandable during COVID19, but just wondering what the wait time experience has been.

I waited for almost two weeks for my QC, and there are people who have been waiting for 3 weeks and more. For me it seems like 3K's stock comes in batches, and right now they are just getting caught up on the new batch. When you QC be aware of the bezel alignment issue. Thanks
Rainbowkin - Thanks for the note. Quickly on the bezel alignment issue; thanks for the heads up - But I can't find this being mentioned on the forum thus far. Do you mind elaborating a bit please?

People have been posting their QC in this 3K Aquanaut thread, and some have mentioned their bezel being mispositioned CCW slightly. I remember there was even one guy from the UK who had to sell his 3K Aquanaut because he could not stand the bezel. It is unnoticeable unless you keep staring at it. Other issues being crooked 11 or 12 o'clock marker and defect 5, 6, or 7 o'clock marker.
Edit: the early product seemed to suffer from the bezel problem. I think now they have fixed it for the most part.

I ordered from Trusty and received QC pics after about 3 weeks. No bezel alignment issues on mine.
I got the Rose Gold and Got QC in 3 days. Had no crown or bezel issues. I assume most ppl ordered SS models

ordered from PT and approved QC/shipped on 4/25. It’s been sitting at JFK since 5/3....
by far the longest shipping time I’ve ever experienced - granted the whole pandemic thing but an extremely far cry from 3 days.

Keep in mind NYC is ground zero for the pandemic, so everything is extremely slow there. All the best.

It's ridiculous that in order to just get a correct version of the rubber strap model without the gold marks, you need to get the ss version, pay for an extra strap, clasp/buckle. This adds more than $150 to the cost, in addition to the rep that costs almost $600. With shipping you're looking at almost $800.
The incorrect engraving gives me doubt and seems to be a wider problem / evidence of lack of attention to detail and quality control.
I wonder when they'll release version 2...
