As mentioned before, you bought this from one of the most reputable grey market sellers, so you should rest easy this is a gen.
Having said that, given how clearly accurate the rep is, I would never have bought this gen, but this is my personal opinion. I went for a gen that's not repped and kept the reps that are nearly identical to gen.
I think your trip to the AD will serve no reason other then to give you peace of mind, but that's worth the trip.
once you've assured yourself it's a gen get some cool straps and wear the hell out of it!

Vbmark.. I definitely intend to wear it a lot.. but this is just one of 3 gens I currently have and actually buying my 4th Gen the 372 as well this weekend.. though the 390 is very well repped ive always been drawn to it.. inspite having the perfect rep I wanted the Gen.. :) I just wanted to make sure it was a real Gen that I was paying for as I commented on the 2nd page... :) also never questioned the seller as he is very reputable but I did get concerned about his sources.. all is well though as I just dropped off the watch today at the Panerai Boutique for a complete service and authentication.. :)

You made a good choice with the the 390 mate. Great choice for a gen. Pure PAM.

Many thanks ryllz for these pics and comparisons
They are really useful to see the quality of modern reps
I would like to know about your opinions about the colour of the hands, since "old" Noob were a bit rose instead of yellow gold.
It is also important the comparison of sausage lume colour
Please check directly by yourself and try to get the differences by a pic
Thanks again

Of course: rep points added and I will include this link in PAM GUIDE

The only way I could tell the difference was that bit of smudge on the caseback of the left/bottom 390, that "tells" me it's been used so theoretically it's the rep. Other than that, just wow! Unbelievable how far the game have gotten. Thanks ryllz for this!

Wow. That's what's so great about PAM reps. They are so close that even the exerts struggle to tell them apart from Gens.

Congratulations!

Take a loupe to the sausage dial indices - I will be amazed if you do not see an immediate obvious difference

Gen sausage below - take a look at your rep dials?

Mapman, Is that a gen 422?

I don't know anyone who has the 422 rep. This 390 is so amazing, I'm just dying to see when it's used as a base for a 422

Nope it's 001b gen - just illustrating the sausage indices detail - no rep constructed like it

I'm also curious to see the differences indicated by Mapman
It should have evident differences like Mapman says, due to the different structures of lume application between gen and rep

Yes, some dealers are out of stock. Try with Toro...

Mapman, Is that a gen 422?

The case structure is different (PAM422 uses a hybrid 1950s case), the crystal shape is different (PAM422 uses the same shape as in the PAM 372) and the lume color is brownish (so called patinated) compared to the usual greenish white lume.

Any experience with the 422 rep or the 372 rep vs 422 gen?
