One model that really caught my eye was the new Mike Horn Edition Ecopandea Tourbillon GMT

The release has been delayed till October because the expedition has been delayed because of the pandemic.

Edit to add: limited to 5 pieces and it's made from pieces of Mike Horn's boat. And also the only part of this year's campaign that is not a Luminor.

Panerai also introduced a 70 year guarantee on their watches in which service is included I believe they said.


One of the watches is the
Luminor 1117
Under warranty till the year 2090.

They have intigrated luminous materials into the bezel, around the crown and crown guard as well as into the strap as well.

There are several different models that have this silhouette.

Their new material is fiber tech and I heard Pontroue say they plan to introduce 1 new materoal per year over the next few years.

This year its fibertech.

It is a little overdone but it only lasts about an hour coming in from bright sunlight.

And I have luminescent stitching on a few straps and it only works for about a week or two before it barley illuminates at all. Lol.

I assume that rep factories will use P. 900X clones or A7750 based automatic movements for the watches.

How reliable are these movements? I'm coming from good ol' A6497 days having played with the 111, 292, 005, 390 and likes.

I agree my friend. Fibratech would be the only line I'd be looking for when repped. I see that new management steers as far away from the history of the brand as possible. On the other hand, their bringing back the "tool watch" part of the business. Very interesting approach indeed.

Apparently, this is so. In fact, they could have made at least 1 bettarini model, for example, in a case from Carbotech, since they like it so much.

PAM1662 titanium, gray dial + Carbotech bezel, this is true that can be repeated, and I would like to see it. Not a fan of the blue dials, but with the black hands it also looks good, it reminds me of 082. This can be repeated, and I am sure it will be so. According to fibratech, this is still new material for vsf, so soon we won’t see anything, so I imagine that we will see all the models made from ordinary Carbotech.
