I went with VSF because it's the best sub overall. Only thing that bothers me is the off color gold, but that can be plated for which I payed 250€. To me it's pretty perfect, YMMV thou.

does anyone in the UK do the plating and also the gold on the insert? Pretty happy with the Arf I bought a few weeks ago but the insert in particular could do with the gold brightening up so would likely get it all replated if that was an option.,

I got the VSF and it's a great watch. The gold color is to yellowish, but I just got it plated with real gold and now its perfect.

where did you do that ? and do you have comparison pics ?

VSF stock vs replated vs gen ?

The VSF looked too dark yellow. I got it plated by nikz who does it the same color as gen. Obviously bezel and crown was plated as well..

so 250 is for bracelet, bezel, insert digits and crown? All plated gold?

The clear coat hurts it slightly but it's needed. Very close in colour!

You got that mixed up lol

You may want to double check that, because what I said is accurate.
18karat is a brighter yellow because of less copper.
14karat is a warmer yellow because of more copper.

You are wording it wrong. Pure 24k gold is a very warm colour. Which is why 18k is more darker warm yellow. How can lower karats be warmer lol? Bright yellow like a brass in colour is what you see on 10k.

It's not my wording, it's industry description about the attributes of gold color.
Even with the wording and photos you seem to be failing to understand the principles involved.

Pure gold is 24k and brightest of the yellow gold. Each karat down adds more copper, which adds more red tone, which makes it warmer as opposed to brighter.

24 karat = 100% gold or Pure gold
22 karat = 91.7 % gold
18 karat = 75.0 % gold
14 karat = 58.3 % gold
12 karat = 50.0 % gold
10 karat = 41.7 % gold

18k gold is brighter yellow because it has less copper.
14k gold is warmer yellow because it has more copper.

Your are reading false things on jewelry company websites used for marketing. The pictures are so touched up it's ridiculous. Alot of the time they bash higher karats because they want to sell cheaper affordable jewelry. It sells quicker and in larger quantities. Look through photos on Google that are not touched up by jewelry websites marketing team.

Pure Gold is warm, dark yellow and rich in colour. You claiming 14k is warm yellow is what sleezy Jewelers say.

I don't know why you keep bringing up copper lol like it's the only metal gold is mixed with or something. Higher copper content is for Rose gold jewelry.
IF you want white gold it's palladium.
If you want a pink/light rose colour then it's copper.
If you want a green and pale gold then it's silver.
If you want red then it's colbalt.
If you want pale yellow then it's Nickel.

Which is warm dark and rich yellow colour? 24k or 14k?

14k looks like brass trumpet.

Another example. I don't blame you diamonds it's these sleezy Jewelers that will say anything to make a sale with false information. I've heard them say things like "18k is too soft and will break buy 10k" to "hollow gold is just as good as solid gold"
