So which one is the best FC diver overall, JF or Noob? I understand that the only major cons of the JF is the noisy rotor, but the finishing is better. Is the finishing of the JF is far better than Noob or it's only slightly better? Thank you

Purely my opinions:

Current best FC diver versions are the noob v4 and JF v5. They are of pretty equal quality with each it's pros and cons.

The FC case should be similar for both and it is FC, so the pattern will be different for each rep.

Noob v4 will have better hour hand (2 thinner and more gen black hands). It comes with quieter a 2824. Date is harder to read and DW font now is probably not as gen like as before.

JF main advantage is its better AR, even for the cyclops. That makes the date easier to read. Hour hand, though now white and not grey, still presents thicker black lines.

To make both closer to gen, you will need to install double AR, probably including the cyclops. For JF, you will have to additionally thin out the thicker black lines on the hour hand.

As stock, my view is both are excellent reps.

For SS diver, v7 is the best.

I regard both the SS and FC divers as the best AP reps one can find currently without mods/as stock.

What is the disadvantage from the newer V8 Diver to the V7 Version?

V7 = quite reliable A2824-2 movement
V8 = noisy MIOYTA clone with heavy deco plates, which you wouldn;t see cuz of closed case back

Very good updated rundown and mostly agreed.

I'd like to add that the AR on the new batch of Noob V4's are pretty decent. This is comparing to my SS v7 and my JF bumblebee. However, the xtal is pretty bad lol. If you have the SS v7/ JF BB and dont see a need to upgrade the AR, then you wouldn't need to with the v4.

As lolo mentioned, the FC cases are pretty much the same. Out of everything, I can only say that the XTAL could get a little TLC.

Lastly, after handling both the A2824 and Miyota, I can't stress this enough: Go for the A2824!

I found nothing on the forum, perhaps can somebody in this Thread tell me...
Is the Forged Carbon Replica really lighter than the SS Steel Diver because of the Carbon Material? Is it similar to the gen weight?

Oh, one more thing. This is probably a big consideration for those perfectionists: I think you can mod the 2824 to a lower beat movement which will be more gen like. I am not sure whether this can be done with the miyota.

It's the questions which I also have - answer will determine if I go got Noob or JF after all.... if MIYOTA not up gradable to ETA, probably noob is only option

@chris3007 the miyota movement in the Jf could be changed to a Swiss 2824 or powermatic 80 can it?

WTF, I am emailing my dealer to check stock because I miss my FC Diver and this thread makes me want another.

If I plan to replace the crystal with an upgraded crystal, is it best to go with the Noob v4?

Don't know whether Slaughter comes here often. He might know something. Why not drop him a pm?

The Jf watch can have its movement changed to a pm80 or ETA 2824. The hands are not a direct fit so you could buy ETA hands for the diver but my modder said he could get the miyota hands to work if required to, extra work but it can be done.

I've just ordered a JF. After considering a while I think the crystal and inner bezel alignment/lume is better on the JF. I can live with the Miyota 9015 especially since this is a closed back and the reliability of the 9015 is pretty much bulletproof.

If you plan to leave it straight OTB and just wear it as it is then personally JF is I think the way to go. JF crystals on my 15400's are awesome for stock.
