Wow bug scammer maybe selling both gen and reps... i would not be surprised, but to make such a mistake on their website is a testament to their dodgy operation, how can a legit shop would ever described a $16k item with an asian movement...

Report those F.uckers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys seriously 9maiali is a legit shop here in Hong Kong. They are a reputable dealer and their photos are used a lot of reference to gens as they take very good photos. Look at their past items for sale on their site and you can see they deal with a lot of pams including vintage pams as well. I have been to their shop, they are 100% legit.

They are selling the complete 622 boxset with manual, certificate and the stickers etc. it's gen.

Seems the person who was responsible for posting the ad made a seriously noob mistake of just copying the first description they found on google.

that means they KNOW nothing about the brand, it is OUTRAGEOUS , REPUTATIONAL DAMAGE is HUGE, I will never buy any gen there ! If the guys COPY PASTE from Internet that is soooooooooo shameful ! but again make no ñistake, they did sell reps as gens !!!

box can be rep, papers can be fakes...

That is actually hilarious !!! Poor past customers...

Yes for a shop which specializes in dealing with Pams, reputation wise, it really does not look good. It was most likely a employee (possibly new?) who was lazy and just did a google, copy and paste.
But you seem to be having a rather big reaction to this....
When did they sell reps as gen? and poor past customers? can you provide more information on this?

Also there aren't any rep special edition boxes, or special edition books.
The rep standard box can be quite easily identified as rep and the rep books have bad print quality and incorrect for most pams as only one set is produced.

I love gen watches and I do not mix reps and gens, and this coming from a supposed top pam retailer is shocking to say the least. So yes I might have a rather big reaction, but this amateur deserves really bad press, and being blacklisted...

Just replace "Asian" with "ETA/Unitas" before the 6497 and it seems fine. One word that makes the difference between rep and gen.

Somehow it just shows how thin the line between gen and rep already is or how blurred it is becoming. BTW it has an ostensible "Swiss made" on the dial to further mix up things as the original 6154 that it´s based upon was purely..... Italian.

So it´s an Italian military design, assembled in a Richemont Group factory in Switzerland with a swiss-made ETA 6497 pocketwatch movement that was launched in Russia and is now being sold in Asia. No wonder somebody mixed it up....

They messed up good ! A slip up in description like that raises a red flag on their past transactions. I would not trust them. It was a big slip. It will cost them. For sure.

My conspiracy theory: 9miaili has their hands in the rep cookie jar and are responsible for sourcing the gens for factories to rep. I bet they own the factories..lol

Uhm, guys, the name of the seller isn't 9maiali, it's bestcameraseller. So before going on to bashing a well-known PAM retailer, isn't it more likely the seller used 9maiali's pictures and a rep website's description? That would totally be more believable than 9maiali using a new employee to do their sales copy.

Having just looked at their website with a keen eye, I believe what you said is what happened.

Have you seen the watch in person?

Perhaps we should reach out to them and let them know of the problem?

There's no point in bad-mouthing them without knowing all the facts. Does this taint their reputation in my eyes? Yeah, a little, but not to the point of writing them off. If it happens again, then perhaps there'll be real cause for concern.

finally someone who is being reasonable!
yes it does taint their reputation, and imo there is no way the shop owner would have made that mistake. But we are human after all, we all make mistakes. I don't think we need to get all aggressive and blacklist them just because they made one mistake. Even watchuseek has been fooled by a rep before. These are reputable dealers and are not actively trying to scam people.
it has been said before as well that as rep owners a lot of the time we are more knowledgeable as we scrutinize and compare to gens much more than the gen owners will.

Yes their shop has two sections, one for watches (mainly pams) and the other half are cameras (mainly Leicas).

I haven't seen this watch in person, but I have no doubts about its authenticity.

I did a little more checking this time and this is on the profile of the seller:

We are running two companies do retail and trading on Luxury goods: 1) 9days Photo & Camera (9days.hk) is specialist on Leica camera 2) 9 Maiali Watches & Straps (9maili.com) is specialist on Panerai watches. 9maiali is official distributor of MarioPaci straps, Ennebi watches and SevenFriday.

So they deal with ebay sales for 9maiali. It's strange but oh well, it's their business. Someone should tell them their description is strange, not like the descriptions on other PAMs they have for sale.
