Anyone know what the best available version of the PAM308 Luminor Regatta Chronograph is? Im most focused on a realistic black waffle dial, and a blue chrono hand (vs black which a lot of the reps i've seen seem to have)

thanks for your help

followup question: which TDs can get it?

Hi garen
You must see the PAM REVIEW-GUIDE to have more information about the
rep CHRONOS of Panerai.
The big hand second is blue despite it seems black. See Asian7750 pics. Anyway consult the dealer when you buy it.
See below the GUIDE info for PAM 308 (all the reps PAM 308 are the same) and have a reliable chrono VENUS movement. But manual winded like the gen, please note!!

PAM308-deficopiar.jpg

The PAM 308 was a Unique Edition of 500 watches to celebrate the 2008 “Regatta” Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge.
From 2008 the Panerai Luminor Chrono 44mm new launchings continue being a full-sized version of the "traditional" 40mm chronographs, but the square pushers are replaced by cylindrical type chrono pushers like the 1950 Chrono series.
The PAM 308 has a beautiful Black Hobnail textured dial, brushed SS case and brushed SS bezel with tachymeter, feature constant seconds @9, the usual chrono centre seconds hand and only minute totalizer with blue marked previous five minutes before the starting of the Regatta. It has a new completely and exclusive movement: the manual winding OP XXVI.
There are good quality replicas of PAM 308 fitted by the very reliable Venus 75 manual movement.

I think H-factory are just about to release a newer version of the 308, although it's got an auto 7750 movement.

Hi friends
Yes Trusty Time has released a very good H-maker version of PAM 308
But it is fitted with an automatic A7750 !
And the gen is manual winding OPXXVI !
I don't understand this decision.
I have already included this version in the GUIDE and considered it as a First Class rep. See comments in the GUIDE.

PAM 308
EVALUATION: (*) FIRST CLASS REP (H-maker) (see comments about movement)
The PAM 308 was a Unique Edition of 500 watches to celebrate the 2008 “Regatta” Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge.
From 2008 the Panerai Luminor Chrono 44mm new launchings continue being a full-sized version of the "traditional" 40mm chronographs, but the square pushers are replaced by cylindrical type chrono pushers like the 1950 Chrono series.

It has a new completely and exclusive movement: the manual winding OP XXVI.
There are good quality replicas of PAM 308 fitted by the very reliable Venus 75 manual movement.
On June 2012 H maker released a replica fitted with automatic A7750, impossible accuracy since the gen has Manual OP XXVI movement, but the general construction and finish is a First Class replica. Always bearing in mind the matter about an automatic movement instead a manual one. Due to this reason we cannot consider this PAM 308 a Super rep.
Leaving aside the cost of the Venus and some people who doesn’t want the manual, I don’t understand this decision from H maker. The PAM 308 is not either Flyback or Rattrapante chrono, therefore it would be possible to make an accurate replica with all chrono functions and, since the quality of H maker is almost assured, likely it would have been a Super rep. But fitted with an A7750 it can be just a First Class rep.

well from what i've seen, its the non-TDs that carry the new H-factory PAM308, although you could drop the other TDs like Hont, Kingwatch or Trevor an email to see if they have this instock?

Some dealers just announced the new 308!

v0wkP.jpg

i want this one to be my first pam...

how good this one compare with 111n v3 from noob?

why this one wouldn't be first class rep?

are the movement that bad?

the chronograph function is like gen or not?

i want this one because the closed backcase, because of that, that wouldn't be problem the movement are not same with gen.

please advice for pam 308

The A7750 fits more 95% of mechancal chrono replicas in the market and nowadays is a reliable movement with some precautions. The chrono functions are excatly the same as the gen Valjoux7750.
But it is a ¡n AUTOMATIC movement and the PAM 308 features a very exclusive MANUAL movement OPXXVI. Fortunately it has solid caseback.

At the current level of PAM replicas to fit a MANUAL watch with an AUTOMATIC movement is almost outrageus. Please think in a PAM 005, 360 or 390 with AUTOMATIC movement !!!
Anyway is a movement inaccuracy like many of them in PAM repllicas.
If you can live with it... No worries

Indeed I have give it the First Class rep classification bearing in mind the general quality and accuracy of this replica.

Bad idea, auto manufacture. We must maintain the originality at all costs.

Hey ALE,

Are the V2 upgrades (minus movement) very significant? If so, would it be possible to swap the Venus movement into the new model?
Or would you recommend getting the V1 instead?

Thanks for your wisdom

That is not possible because all dimensions are similar but different, sub-dials, chrono pushers...etc.

The best maintenance is not to use the chronos ... LOL

Seriously it is recommended do not use the chronos in an A7750.
I don't like to get serviced a replica movement I prefer to leave it until stop. Then you will repair it.
