I think Rick is wearing a millgaus in season 4, but im not sure. Looks good. He´s gun friend has, from what i can tell, a two-tone sub. Maybe Rick pays he´s experts by handing them a nice piece every now and then. Would love to have a job like that.

Crash course in rep-telling. I love this show!

I've seen him rock Breitlings, Chopard's, and Cartier's also...comes with the job for sure. BTW, ive been to the shop, and the place is a joke...Nothing like on TV...It's all BS.

The store is real but the things we see on the show are all set up. For instance, there was an episode where an older rock musician tries to sell what he believes to be a vintage les paul guitar. They call in an expert from a local guitar store who breaks the news that the guitar is not vintage and valued far below what the seller thought. But, it turns out that the seller actually works at the same guitar store as the expert, so obviously the whole thing was set up. I spend a lot of time in pawn shops and very rarely do I ever see anything interesting come through the doors. If the show was real it would be the most boring thing on TV.

I've been there too, it was dissapointing to see the majority of the business being "Pawn Stars" t-shirt sales!

They did have a great selection of watches though...

Strange. The biz must be quite good, as Rick easily spends $ 100K on an old car. Or restore another one for like $15K. Thats some serious money.

I missed it when i was in Vegas. Maybe i didn´t miss much after all.

They probably make far more money from the TV show than from their pawn shop.

Yeah, its a tourist trap. Once they have a item they are going to film. They call who is going to be in the episode. None of the guys are every there except chum. They run everyone out except a few "select" buyers. They research the item give rick or whom ever the script. Then shoot the episode.

Most people buy the souvineers and booble heads in the shop.

Also Hoss should change his name to Ass. I let you figure out why.

How many pawn shops you know call in an expert.

The store is not a joke. I've been there before the show was made. They have always been a good source for deal on watches. I looked at a TT DJ there back in the late 90's. They have quite a History. I have seen them wear every brand I can think of.

Exactly I live in the same town that duck dynasty show is shot. I can tell you they are nothing like the hill-billies they are made out to be in the show.

They are laughing all the way to the bank.

They definitely have everything scripted. They basically ramble on about each featured item like they're an expert. Chumlee buys an old car and puts hydraulics on it or they consider buying a jet fighter training plane. It's all planned out in advance but it's mildly entertaining.

Pawn business doesn't work the way most people think. They make 90% of their money on the interest from loans. Retail, they buy and sell all day long..sometimes they make money...sometimes they lose. It doesn't matter as its such a small percentage of income.
When they ask you if you want to sell or pawn...they are qualifying you. They will loan crazy money on stuff...if they know your coming back...if your selling, pennies on the dollar.
Those guys are a well established and successful shop. The show is obviously scripted as they all are.... for entertainment.
I was a pawnbroker in the 80's :)

Woof* - Is there anything you haven't done? You need to write a book.

I've always heard that in 99% of the cases they do NOT want your pawed items. They want you to come back and pay on the loan because, as Woof* stated, that's how they make their money. At interest rates of 240% that makes sense.

I have been there in the shop twice. It's actually quite entertaining to be there to see stuff and people. Seeing Rick in his truck driving away from the crowd puts a big smile on my face.

I bought a DJ last month from them in mint condition for a very fair price. It's a business, TV show setup or not is irrelevant to them because they are there for long term to make money. Negotiation is the key when doing business with them.

I think a small business prospering like that excites me a lot. That's the point I want to make.
