So if one orders two or more watches from PureTime, he or she can pay $19 for a Cartier Santos with a Asian 21J movement.

Can anybody testify as to its quality?

Thanks!

I do have one, 21J with mineral crystal. Not excellent I'll say, but definitely worth more than $19. It is one of those rep that u will have to spend $60 for with our TD, and since got the shipping covered, why not? The worst case u can use the 21J as spare parts :D

for $19 does it really matter?

not really...its all money making to them...you think it cost them anything near $19? **** no! its a take it or leave it thing, is it worth more than 20bucks? sure as the parts alone if bought retail would cost more but in the end its 20bux, take it or leave it...I would rather a discount or free shipping rather than spending more on something that I don't want or need...its just an impulse tool, they hope you buy it cuz it's a "deal" and puts 19bux in their pocket that you wouldn't have spent otherwise.

Just to clarify a few things. I will be ordering about $550 USD worth of reps when the new year comes to an end. If you are to pull the 5% discount out of this, the savings is $27.50. This means that to get the Santos, it is actually going to cost $46.50. Take into account that this is a tiny Santos at 34mm with a mineral crystal. If it were the full sized Santos, I would overlook the mineral crystal and 21j. But in this case, I will pocket the ~$50.

I got one last year when I ordered two watches. It was at least the 40mm. It was of notably low quality. I gave it away. I wish I kept it to pull apart now. :)

I may end up with the woman's Gucci. That will score some points with my wife. Points with the wife = more reps > low quality Santos!

Dude, even it cost them $1, you think making $18 profit is a crime in business? lol

Ahhh, to run a business these days.... ALL business owners are millionaires, right - and they're making money hand-over-fist....

You'd do well in government CM, 'Tax the bastards some more, they can afford it!' :p

Is this a 5%-discount-or-cartier-santos kinda thing? I didn't realize.

This question comes to mind because I'm looking to order the Tag Carrera Chrono CV2010 and while Puretime offers rubber strap, Asian7750 offers a leather strap+ deployment buckle at around the same price in total.

Cartier Santos 100 is a watch that I'm interested in and would love to get as a freebie by perhaps ordering a gift for the family, but the Tag Carrera is definitely more important :D

No, you can get BOTH the discount and the $19 Santos, in fact I received the 10% WU discount when I bought 2 watches plus the Santos, so the Santos actually cost me $17.

As for the rubber, i think you can easily contact Angus to get it change to leather strap + deployment for a small fee.

its not about being millionaires, its about making money that you wouldn't have normally made...throw out a "deal" and many people will take it even if its not a deal...the key to business is to get people to spend more than they were initially going to spend by "upselling" them stuff they didn't come to buy. Just like stores have the impulse racks at the check-outs. You go in to buy a loaf of bread and while in line you see a snuggie or something staring you down on the rack at the check-out and low and behold its on sale for 50% off! You don't need it, heck you really don't want it but its a deal and its right there so you buy it...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

a little off topic, but you may enjoy the writing of Dan Ariely....

Todd Duncan and many business coaches from this decade would beg to differ with your definition of 'the key to business' too....

I'm happy with the Santos deal. The watch is definitely over 40mm even thought the site says 34mm. I thought I was getting a watch that I could give as a peace offering to my wife when she say my two watches. Boy was I wrong! Headed to the store and bought some chocolates before she saw my "3" new watches.
