Let's make the first 'fake' to pass breitling!

OK guys here's the plan. I get lots of emails every day from people who want to know if my hyper frankens will pass breitling's inspection and if they will 'certify' or destroy one....

shall we find out??

OK here's the plan I need help from people to pull this off. I have a gen cal 17 for a SOSF with rotor and DW. I then need any spare SOSF parts anyone has.... or if anyone wants to sell me one let me know.

I also need someone who can laser etch serial numbers The movement number is tied to the serial so I need to get the serial right....

I will of course be sending it to breitling so all risk will be on me...

let me know who is interested an who can help! Speaking to breitling they WILL re-certify a watch and can even request the original AD to sign, stamp and re-warrant (if applicable) the warranty booklet... so..... lets do this!

Seriously, I think you are opening a big can of worms here to prove something that really doesn't give us value. It's more of burden if they track your watch to this thread or if they heighten an alliance to raid factories..

That is just my opinion anyway. Do me a favor a re-think this.

We try to encourage members not to go to AD's with their reps so no unwanted attention is brought in our hobby. This is way beyond that and I don't see how this helps us in any way as a community. I'm with you 100% R2 and Wiz

Come on guys this is a really silly idea if you ask me. What happens if they say, Ok, we need to start cracking down on this, lets go to China and disrupt the supply and cut off all parts. It doesn't do anyone any good. Sure if you make it through, yeah look at me, I slapped them with a dead trout. hahaha...

That's the least that can happen. We all know that from all gens out there, Breitling is one of the very few brands that you can build a franken from because of the availability of OEM parts. What do you think will happen if this doesn't go through and they restrict access to OEM parts just like the other major brands. Is it worth taking that risk just to prove something that is to no benefit to any of us?

What do you think will happen if this doesn't go through and they restrict access to OEM parts just like the other major brands. A lot of valid points here... but I have to say, if this is being said on here then someone else is thinking about doing this as well. Might as well be the legendary person who did.

By stopping this project only lengthens the time until someone else does. Just my $0.02

I'd also say do it for your pleasure ("Yes, I can") and build your ultimate frankenwatch but don't tease them.

Remember what happened when the gen Hublot Ceramic bezels were available as "OEM" and it was crushed.
