I will say, when I look at gen APs, the bezel screws look less than perfect, and definately not flush. So the better fitting screws may look better, but I dont think they look more like a gen AP (I have actually seen some sites that list super flush bezel screws as a tell of a fake AP).

Look at these screws on a gen bezel. Maybe they are better than some APSFs, but they also have some gaps (which I think is typical). I am not so certain the rep is that far off if you straighten the screws out on examples.

It’s not the alignment or gaps that bother me so much as the mismanufactured bezel screws themselves.

Ask yourself how hard it is to cut a centered slot on the head of one of those hexagonal screw heads. It’s almost as if the factory are intentionally putting on screws with slanted slots to sleight the customers of initial versions.

That’s fair, but I’d venture a guess that the production lines putting the watches together are putting other watches together too. And they’re paid on quantity not quality - which is a management decision.
Factories incentive purely is to minimize the amount of after sales return, i think they focus more on that than minor aesthetics of the bezel.... just my 2c. They leave these kind of fine detailing/bezel stuff for after market modders in China rather than bother tightening up QC, always about cost vs time vs value

On mine I don't think it's a matter of the slots not being in the correct location. The actual hexagonal head shape is slightly smaller than the hole it goes into on the bezel.

As much as I like my 26240, and the ceramic does interest me, I personally would hold off until they address the ceramic chipping and breaking that I'm reading so much about.

Maybe just typical Chinese QC issues for the supplier of the screws.

I wonder if the “One Drop” Special Edition dial will be easier to rep than the Tapisserie dial. It seems like it should be.
Probably. But the "One Drop" Special Edition is literally a special edition of only one watch. Good luck representing this rep as gen. Then again, no one you'll ever run into will have ever seen this watch. I'm not sure if there's even a non-computer rendered picture of this watch in the wild. So the odds of being called out because the blue color is off will be close to zilch.

Same with the Royal Oak Offshore GIMS rep (where the sundials look like sunglasses). Instant tell if you're not Gims.

You are absolutely right. A limited special edition of 1 certainly is “special.” Nice looking watch though. Next time someone says a good rep will not be made because some model doesn’t sell enough, I will remember this rep of a one-off $1.1M watch.

Would have been interesting economics to sell the rep for more, and make only 10 of them.

It's a 1.1 million dollar watch. It's a piece unique so for sure, 99.99% of us don't have conditions to pull it off regarding "gen" (but as we all know, who gives a shit about this)

I also hope APSF knows it's not a flat dial but akin to a brushed linen dial... look at pics above

So you’re saying I can pull it off.

I don't know.

It's actually quite common for rep factories to just produce watches based on renders. That's why we get funny spelling mistakes or obvious flaws (ZF no sunburst P39) because they produce from renders.

Based on the "promo pic" they have used, it seems they may have missed this aspect.
