Hi all,

I can't see anyone pointing this out - is it just me? The AP logo on the dial seems different from retail and ZF; it's slimmer and I cannot unsee it.

What's everybody else's thoughts on this?
I think you're right but this watch is tiny. If you like the ZF and this is something that affects you - go for the ZF. End of the day reps is about tolerating whatever you want.

Can't really expect a $400 chinese rep to have some high level finishing/detailing like AP.

Thank you !!. I'm finding it difficult to decide as there are no comparisons between both options to see flaws. Whats the downsides of each. Do they both have good bracelet finishings? Do both dials have nice sunburst ?

Read guide in my signature. And read tbe ZF thread. I think someone commented about ZF bracelet structure not being correct.

Not alot for these two models so you'll have to evaluate yourself by looking at dealer pictures. I think personally I lean V7.

No problem with the logo. There's a comparison with gen from V7F on the first post. Mine looks fine just like the V7F's photo. The most noticeable difference between V7F and ZF is the dial.

Thank you for also commenting, I’m not sure how no one sees this I’ll post picture bellow it feels the V7 is really thin

ended up ordering the black one, here are my QC pics. i'm mostly curious about the bracelet size given the length of the ZF. my wrist is ~7in so if I had to guess i'll need to go back and see if i can get more links or one of the other strap options. hoping i can squeeze though 😆

I don’t know about this.

This watch is smaller than a Datejust 36mm. I really doubt on wrist this is a issue, I could barely even see what your saying is and I had to zoom in. I promise that everything is a flaw when you blow up the watch on your computer.

Set your expectations and you'll have a easier time..... or buy a gen dial which costs 3x the rep itself, or buy a ZF. No rep is perfect, what the ZF has in dial it is missing the bracelet structure.

People forget these are still reps, what do they want?

A wise man once said: the watch will be 1:1, when the price is 1:1.

The V7 is a great watch, especially for its price (1750 CNY). People want genuine quality without paying the price for it. I doubt many have actually seen a genuine one in real life, so they end up comparing ultra-zoomed close-up pictures side by side and wonder why it looks off. In reality, no one will question it if you wear it with confidence. And if someone does question it, it’s probably not because of the watch itself.

You said it well: Set your expectations and you'll have it way easier, that goes for everything in life.

Yeah totally get that perspective !!!. This is my first rep purchase and I'm struggling to find balanced reviews and cradling perfection I guess

Really curious about the V7's actual quality in person - how's the dial, bracelet finishing, etc? Same for the ZF. Hard to find good references that allow me to make informed decision

Digging through gen photos on Chrono24 and saw both sizes of the AP logos. The gen that I have, looks exactly like V7F's. I think this is very likely just batch variations. The gen logo and hour indices are made of white gold which is a bit more difficult to produce than steel in that tiny size. Perhaps AP made some changes to streamline the manufacturing process. We won't know the exact reason but in reality, gen brands like AP, Patek, Rolex tend to have minor variations from batch to batch. (Just take a look at the bezel color discussion over at GMT Pepsi thread).

Ultimately, like Reaps mentioned the watch is small, and the logo is not often visible because it is polished and reflects light differently in all kind of situations and viewing angles.

I have both. The dial pattern is better on V7F. No comment on the date font cause I don't care lol. I have problem with ZF bracelet pinching my skin sometimes. They are not drastically different. It is possible that they source the same case and bracelet from the same supplier considering this model is pretty niche in reps. ZF just feels like it isn't well put together for some reason. Again, I'm nitpicking here for the sake of this discussion. For day to day wear on wrist, no significant difference except the dial pattern which is why I prefer V7F. YMMV.
