ended up ordering the black one, here are my QC pics. i'm mostly curious about the bracelet size given the length of the ZF. my wrist is ~7in so if I had to guess i'll need to go back and see if i can get more links or one of the other strap options. hoping i can squeeze though 😆

How is the sunburst? Gen is not so much but i can see v7f is having obvious sunburst?

This is always difficult to compare unless you have both gen and rep side by side IRL. Overall the dial is better than ZF.

Sorry for the long wait, but here are some pics! Again this was a bit of a blind buy, I know nothing about AP so draw your own conclusions. This is my first AP rep so I have no real frame of reference, but the quality feels good. Only real flaw to me is the top right corner of the case has a very obvious shaping imperfection that I (somehow) missed in QC. I'm still happy with it though! I love small watches so this is a fun one. My wrist size is ~7in.

Judging from your pics, it wears like a 36mm Explorer, except the dial area is smaller. I like this dial much more than ZF. Thanks for sharing.

I just got one recently. The bracelet quality is pretty good. Not sharp and not flimsy except the clasp is a bit sharp but you won't feel it on wrist. It's just me nitpicking.

One thing that stood out immediately is the crystal anti-reflective coating. The reflection on crystal is almost non-existent and that makes the dial much more legible. The dial is also more accurate to gen than ZF.

The bezel screws are not properly aligned, as you can see from the pictures here on this thread but those can be fixed by loosening the screws very slightly using screwdiver. This might compromise the water resistance but this watch doesn't come with a gasket at the crown and the gen isn't great at water resistance too so I would definitely keep it away from water anyway.

Is it NWBIG? For me, it is. Considering the small size, any flaws will be difficult to notice through naked eyes.

1. Are you saying AR coating is really good in v7f crystal?
2. Replacement Screws and nuts can be purchased in ebay.

Really curious on bracelet finishing compared to gen. AP bracelets are so hard to replicate, even after getting refinished by watchmakers.

Also, looks like the bracelet geometry on this is way better than ZF's.

Refer to this comment for details on that.
I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to put out some details that I've noticed. I have a ZF 67650 with a gen black dial. Went into a grey market shop today to compare it against a gen 67651 white dial with diamond bezel.

Let me start by saying the ZF is pretty solid. But there are a couple of things that might bother you.

- The steel is definitely duller and rougher-looking than gen. Gen is extremely smooth, uniform, and bright. I'm sure modders can get it close to gen, but don't expect gen-level finishings out of the gate.

- The bigger issue I've noticed is that the ZF's bracelet links are not beveled anything like gen. In pictures, it seems that JJF's are in fact pretty close to gen. While the outer edges are fine, it seems like ZF's connector links are less rounded, and so less of the polished part of link connector is exposed like it is in gen. This is actually quite noticeable on wrist. Take a look at these photos comparing the two, via Trusty's website.

You can see that the beveling on the JJF's small connector links is a bit more exposed than the beveling on the ZF.

Now, it also looks like the JJF piece's brushed finishing is quite a bit rougher than ZF's. Both might benefit from a modder like Legend's hands.

Just wanted to put this out there! As Legend says, it's more about the rep you love than what's closest to gen, and your attitude is more important than anything. Enjoy!

edit: I believe the correct manufacturing term for a curved surface meeting a flat surface is "fillet." "Bevels" refer to two flat surfaces meeting at less than a 90-degree angle. There's your engineering lesson for the day!

2nd edit: I also wanted to drop in a photo of the gen bracelet so y'all can compare the two reps in question here to it.
