I'd pay good money for better bezel screws. The ones APSF puts on the 26240 are / ... not straight or centered. Triggers my OCD. Thankfully they're shiny, so that's a welcome distraction away from that imperfect slot on each bezel screw.

You have to nudge them a bit to get rid of your OCD.

There is some gap between the top screws and the bezel holes that causes slight misalignments. I’m not sure if that’s an issue with the Gen.

Well said

I don't understand why peeps love burning money for theses waterproofing + bezel screw alignment and polishing 😂😂😂

Pretty sure the guys doesn't even do a shit and just earn easy money
Thanks for the sage ”advice” gentlemen. I am sure it is extremely useful for everyone (especially the thousands of “peeps” who mod watches and talk about them on this forum). Since your opinions apparently are the ultimate truth, I will certainly keep them in mind from now on when I am considering any purchase. It is good to know you are watching out for how all the “peeps” on RWI (me included) spend their money. Because of you, my days of fiscal irresponsibility and “burning money” are over! Thank you for changing my life!

And even more thanks for recognizing “the guys doesn't even do a shit and just earn easy money.” Certainly an inciteful, thoughtful and grammatical comment. I assume that is meant to imply that you, on the other hand, work for your hard-earned money. I am honored to be in the presence of such greatness. Again, I will have to reconsider my life choices and get to work instead of taking all this “easy money.”

I have to go back to my job now, you know, not even doing a shit and burning piles of easy money.

Cheers guys! 😂😂

Gens vary among each other, and the exact same issue was present on my gen 15400. I’ve also come across several gen 15500s with this issue as well.

Maybe you prefer when Prizon tips you to flush your money to the toilet?

Everyone do what they want, I dont talk about the real modding, I talk about waterproofing test charged for premium and the realign and polishing bezel screw for premium as well, when it comes to real modding with craftsmanship it is different (to me).

That's a personal advice, as I said, you do what you want

Peace

Haha, I nudged them and centered the screws as best they can be, however if you look closely, the slot isn't machined center, but at an angle.

Allow me to illustrate by way of paintbrush, haha.

Whether you meant to or not, inciteful (vs. insightful) was actually accurate, haha. Call it the unpopular opinion then, but I truly believe if it makes you happy and scratches that itch for you, then it's worth it to you.

IMO there are several ways of viewing this:

1) An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph 26240 costs $38,500 at MSRP. $800 for a super clone replica watch is a relative bargain to get 85% of the way there from 3 feet away, and 99% of the way there from 10 feet away. And the chrono works. And this doesn't look like a metal pot on the wrist. And it won't detonate as easily as a highly modified 7750 clone movement.

2) An $800 replica watch is on the high end of pricing for a super cloned watch. Since it is on the high end, it should be more accurate and contain less errors. You shouldn't have to pay more to get it closer to where it should be.

3) Who cares if it's a little off? You've saved a massive amount of money and successfully gained access to an otherwise difficult to purchase/obtain watch. It's not the real thing, just looks like it, so wear it and appreciate it.

I think they're all true, but we all have a different level of tolerance for the expense, the accuracy, and what we would "add-on" whether in parts of services, to get it more reliable and more accurate.

While I also hold the belief that waterproofing the watch may not be worth $90 in gaskets and lube, I know I'm usually too busy to do it myself. So, would I pay someone $90 to do it for me, and I don't have to do it myself? Maybe, why not? My time is worth more! I get some peace of mind, and a handy dandy pressure reading letting me feel better wearing my watch.

TLDR: To each their own, and for each, something different that pleases them. Enjoy the watches and be happy :)

Thanks for the permission.

Everyone probably has a different idea about value and what is “real modding.”

You be you.

Best.

I'm fairly impressed how close the two dials match up. Beautiful watches! Thanks for sharing.

lol relax bud. You want to do it, go for it. More power to you. A fool and his money are easily parted. Clearly. It’s just an opinion. That’s the entire point of a forum. There are Gen APs with worse polishing jobs vs these 800$ reps. “Gen spec “ brushing etc etc is all BS.

You are obviously new here, and very eager. We all did the same thing , and learned the same lesson I was trying to steer you away from.

Where I need to be.
Mods or no mods, it is up to the individual. And each member or owner here has a free choice how to wear his watch, or how he desires it to look or feel. It is like choosing to wear gen, franken or wear rep, and seeing and justifying the value in each decision. Lets not resort to extreme opinions which make the other camp uncomfortable. This is a discussion thread, keep it meaningful and respectful please. I will not tolerate the next personal attack or use of unnecessary strong language here moving forward. Feel free to say what you feel, but respect the view of others too.
