So I finally took the plunge and ordered 3 26240s to try out the other day, they include:
  1. Stainless steel green dial
  2. Yellow gold gradient dial
  3. Rose gold brown dial (with rose gold subdials)
For current owners of the 26240, are there any "must have" mods for these, or are they good to go out of the box?
Tightening the caseback screws :)

How is the waterproofness of this? Till now all my AP's and Rolexes get it.
While doing that check the four tiny screws that hold the clasp mechanism and the screws on the removable links. If you have some 222 loctite this would be a good time to use it.

chrono is fully reset, i have tried repeatedly resetting, softly, and with more force the bottom button, it resets each time, but each time it is continuing. I will see what PT comes back with for a solution to fix. Thanks all for input/feedback.
I also received my APS 26240 recently (2 weeks ago - perhaps we have the same batch?) and have the same issue. But instead of creeping chrono minute hand, I have a creeping hour hand! Albeit my hour hand creeps less and stops at 0.5 to 1 hr, so it's something I can live with for now.

I'm aware that gen 26240s used to have this issue, and I’ve also read in an Omega forum that some gen Speedmasters also have creeping chrono hour hands issue due to a spring not being properly adjusted. If it doesn’t hold the wheel in place after resetting, it keeps running. They said that apparently a service or spring replacement might fix it.

Just sharing so others know they’re not alone—this could be a recent batch-wide issue!

Those who've got an APS 26240 coming, be sure to watch out for this!

Here are the very minor “mods” and prices TWM recommended for my APSF blue 26240. Some day soon I hope to get my watch and be able judge how beneficial the work is. FWIW, TWM told me (several times) that the APSF blue dial does not need any refinishing. For other colors (e.g., black), they did recommend refinishing / enhancing the dial (which I think was $180). I hope this helps you.

Refinish Hands Mod - usd$130
Polish and Align bezel screws - usd$90
Rebrushing for case, bezel & bracelet - usd$220
Enhance definition and polish of case/bracelet bevels - usd$180
Full movement servicing done with proper cleaning, greasing and regulation of parts - usd$290
Waterproof and pressure test - usd$90

Think the polishing and stuff is ... fine for AP, i get it. But it will be very minor to no difference whatsoever visually. Unless you're the type of guy to always look at rep under loupe to look at case line transitions lol

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I guess that’s what makes horse races . 🏇🏇

I am definitely not the “type of guy to always look at a rep under loupe.” But those were the services that made sense to me after reading hundreds of posts about this watch on RWI and the ones that were recommended by TWM to make the watch look and feel a little more gen-like without breaking the bank. For example, it certainly would look more gen-like if I went out and got a gen blue dial for $6k or $7k, but for me, that would “break the bank,“ on this $890 watch. Before APSF came out with a better looking rotor, I talked to TWM about getting a rotor that looked better and had had more mass (so would be more efficient). They offered me an CNC 22k rotor that would be true to gen, but at a cost of over $1,000. Again, that cost benefit didn’t work for me (although I am sure it does for someone). The cost /benefit of these services worked for me, even if they wouldn’t for someone else. To be honest, the only one I still am not sure about is the hand refinishing. That really could be a very minor benefit, if any.

Of course YMMV. I think the only really “necessary” services (if there are any of those) are the last two (full movement servicing, and waterproof/pressure test). I was just giving the OP the benefit of what I decided to do after a good deal of research, and a good deal of back and forth with TWM.

Regards.

Wasting your money. Enjoy it as is, imo. This watch from factory needs nothing. None of these “mods”’ will make it more “gen spec” but hey it’s your money.

Water proof and pressure test 90$? For what exactly? Better off just flushing your money down the toilet. That’s a better pressure test
