And make sure the caseback is firmly attached to something, since the friction of the pad is creating a lot of heat.

I finally found the time to finish this amazing 16013 build. I bought the dial on eBay about 2 months ago for less than 150 EUR.
It has an aftermarket 25-118 acrylic crystal to replace the stock sapphire, to make it fit I had to resize the Raffles bezel with a 120 grit rotary tool attachment and finished off with 600 grit sandpaper by hand. It has a VS3135 with an AliX gold date wheel.
I have small wrists and I had to remove a permanent link on the Raffles Jubilee, but made a mess doing it; I ended up cutting two "middle links" with a Dremel and make a botched link in order to put it in the clasp (now it fits perfectly tho). I know that the stock bezel is not perfect, but gen ones are way too expensive so if anyone has any way to make it less "sharp" or can point me to an aftermarket one I'll gladly take it. I want to upgrade the crown with a Sillan (Alibaba) one, but the 2 pieces minimum is putting me off.

May be able to Pick up a Gen crown on eBay for a good deal if you look.

Hey DJ team! Could anyone sense check this for me - Gen 28mm DJ dials, they'll happily fit Raffles 36mm cases without the need of a Dremel, and with the spacer he sells, a 3135 will slot in no worries as well?

So many good value 28mm DJ dials on eBay, I fancy a little franken. Cheers!

160xx and 162xx dials fit with no issue. The 3135 needs a plastic gasket as spacer. Sometimes Raffles gives an older caseback that needs to be ground down for rotor clearance

Raffles case for 3135 (ask him for deeper caseback 1016 (ask him for that)
Clone 3135 movement
Plastic gasket for 3135
Gen Dial or Raffles dial (need to cut off feet for 3135)
Gen or HQ DJ hands
Clark’s crystal or Gen acrylic crystal
Gen 604 crown
Raffles jubilee
Clark old style DJ spring bars.
I don’t think I’m missing anything

We all have. I was going to build 1. I built 10 lol. 2 with all gen parts except for movement and bracelets. It’s crazy bc it’s too small of a watch for my wrist. Ended up selling most and my wife and son took 2 of them. Have fun if you do a build!!!
