The VRF VR3185 has a jumping hour click spring clone of the gen 3185 part (more robust)
The ARF SH3186 has a clone JHCS of the gen 3186 part (breaks more easily)
However, forum watchmakers are saying both of them should be replaced by a gen part to increase stability and improve performance. I would guess that the clone ARF SH3186 JHCS is not replaceable by a gen 3185 JHCS.

Hi Kj. So if one were to forgo replacing the click spring in their ARF and it did eventually break/fail, do you know if that would make it more difficult to replace after the fact?

I just receive the same movement from thrillofhunt. It's actually a copy of 3185 not 3186. It has the deco plate to look like a free sprung balance. The rate and beat error adjustments are located on the opposite side of the bridge which make timing adjustments awkward.
I did a complete service on mine and I have to say that during disassembly it appeared to be properly lubricated and very clean. I didn't notice any improvement after service which included replacing the mainspring.
Amplitude on this movement is lower than a gen but its timekeeping is quite good so far. I have not installed it into a watch yet.
It appears to be a great value for the money. Jumping hour works great and the date change is snappy and crisp. I might add some gen parts at some point.

Bro can you confirm the "jump click" on this next-gen VR3186 is based on the 3185 and not the gen 3186?

Thanks bro, yes indeed that's a 3185 jump click (module for jumping hours)
The gen has a little half round hole in the jewel cover to apply a drop of 9501 grease.
To grease the rep you have to take it apart. Even the rep spring is nice and sturdy but can be a little fiddly to reassemble. Watch out for flying parts!
The VR is so much better than the SH3186. The SH jump click is weak and fragile, leading to mushy imprecise hour jumping and often total failure.

There are two VR GMT movements bro but the first one RWI decided to call the VR3185 to differentiate it from the SH3186.
The newer one appears to be no different at all except for the fake deco free sprung balance arm, which required that the real adjustment arms be moved to the other side of the balance assembly.
Both of these movements are currently still available and can be used with confidence as the best rep GMT movements. The earlier model will likely be discontinued soon as stocks are depleted.
