Gen (2014 model). The dial can have countless colors depending on lightning, angle, environment, shadows and so on. Thats why the sunburs dial is so fantastic and hard to replicate by 100%. Don't know why Tapatalk rotates my pictures by the way...

Agreed! This is another shot of a gen (not mine) which shows a bit darker dial colour than mine. Also 2019 model.

QC pics From TD. ARF. Im going to accept it.

-Date wheel is very good

-Pearl aligned

-Rehaut spot on

-Markers good (12 marker might be slighly crocked to the right but no biggy)

-Gold covered midlinks and SEL-midlinks (yey)

-SELs are as you can expect from ARF (recessed, not so great) but no point in sending it back since it's a factory issue and not this specific piece.

Is the cyclops slightly crooked? I have one too, the ARF is amazing. Only difference with gen is weight and dual colour. But without them side by side no one can tell for sure.

Yeah you're prob right about the cyclop, could be a bit crocked. But I don't dare to send it back for a new one. Last time I did it with a Noob v8 it took 2 weeks before I recieved new QC-pics on a new one and it was worse. Factories also get raided a lot these days...

Next time I could lose the gold covering on the sides and pearl is off center and so on...

Some comparison pics. I'm very pleased with the ARF. Having them side by side you can see some small difference. But they are very small!!!!! Gold color is superb. SELs are not the best but that doesn't consern me.

What does consern me for practical reasons is that you can't fully screw in the crown. It's a approx. 1mm gap so I don't know if water may penetrate the house on a very rainy day!? Is it a known problem? Movement is A2824.

Otherwise, very happy. Gold plating is always a russian roulette option so I hope I don't scratch it too deep :)

Akilles nice watch bro congrats. Just curious how long was the wait time from when you ordered to receiving the qc pics?
Thanks. It took 10 days. Not like in old days when you got QC the next day and if you wanted to swap it took 5-24 hours. It seems to be pretty standard with 7-14 days waiting.

By the way does anyone know why you cant fully screw in the crown. Is it a known problem? It should be A2824 movement.

It's a known issue with too many ARF cases. Sometimes they don't countersink the tube hole when it's drilled in the case so a lip of the tube sits outside the case instead of flush with it. So when the crown is fully screwed down it stops at this tube lip and not the case. It's a QC reject issue IMO if you can catch it.

The tube should be positioned like in the first pic, with the lip at (2) flush with the case.

Thanks for the answer. You learn something new everyday. Thought I read all ARF Two tone threads but must have missed that part. I can actually see on a older Noob steel sub that it has the same issue. Slighly less obvious though.

Nevertheless if I understand the construction correct, it shouldn't be a big issue for the water resistance for a rainy day?

Awesome side by side. Thank you for this.

Just me or does the ARF seem much bigger/chunkier than gen?

It's not just on TT's - ARF 116610's and I've seen it on SD43's. It can be fixed, the right way to fix it is remove the tube and countersink the hole the right depth. I've seen members do a workaround by sanding a bit off the outside end of the tube. That lets you screw the crown down further toward the case.

When I took the pics and had them side by side I compared them visually for a few minutes but never noticed chunkier lugs or bezel. But since many people mention the "fat" lugs there must be some truth in it I guess. However, this rep is good enough for me. In my opionion not even 0,01% of all the humans in the world would spot this as a rep (it would have to be you guys, an AD or an autistic person, maybe a gen owner).

I admire Rolex and its history but 13.000 USD vs 480 USD is not just something I can forget. Don't forget movement service by AD for 500 USD every 7 year.

So my gen will be sold soon. Prob. not here though :)

Akillies thanks for the comparison! They look pretty good I mean subtle differences but the price difference is huge just like you said.
