So ive been getting alot of pms lately from you guys asking can i use any xtal thats 40mm with ar and lec in a sub or a ym etc etc. You can but they are incorrect and will reflect the minute ticks from the dial in the xtal and look ugly.due the the different bevel on the edges and the diffent thickness of the different xtals.so here a little guide i just knocked up for some of the most popular rolex watches and the correct xtals you need for each

116610 sub c = b25-295-c12-c1

116710 gmt2 =b25-295-car-c1

116622 ym =b25-295-car-v3-c1

114060 nd sub =b25-295/3-c1

216570 exp2 42mm =b25-318-c-v3-c1

116300 datejust2 =b25-318-c2-c1

16600 sd =b25-285-c1

16610 sub =b25-295-c2-c4

116509 daytona =b25-295-5-v2-c1

116300 datejust2 =b25-318-c2-c1

SD 43 126600 B25-7003-1-C1

16610 uses c2/c4 read guide
Any 40mm xtal fits in any 40mm watch.but the list is of the part numbers of the xtals that ship with the gen watches from the rolex factory

Now, if I want to put a no-cyclop xtal into my 116710, should I use the 114060 nd sub =b25-295/3-c1, or the 116509 daytona =b25-295-5-v2-c1?

@smoke do you know the correct part number for a 116234/116200 crystal? I am told it is 25-295c with LEC and no AR but I can not find the actual part number anywhere. Thanks!

I now use on my sub the car-v3-c1. Does anybody know what is the diff between this and the c12-c1 ? Are the crystal and gaskets the same height ?

Thanks. The only thing i've noticed is the between some of these ar crystals is the edge on the cyclops.

Car the xtal edge is shaped diffent from a sub c xtal. Car xtal show the reflection of the minute ticks in the very edge of the xtal.very unsightly unless it's installed in the gmt

thanks man ! although my bezel sits flush with the case having no gap at all the crystal is still a little bit too low, lower than my buddies gen subc. I thought maybe the gaskets or crystal had different heights.

I think the dimensions are diffent aswell because the car is for the gmt2.but I know for a fact the beveled edge is diffent.

i'll go for a c12 then and try to sell my current crystal car-v3 to a YM owner. Do you know what b25 and v3 or c12 stands for ?
