A lot of my confusion (and others probably) seems to stem from the mislabeling from the TDs. Goal of this post is the easy democratization of information.

Most Dealers can get most Factory watches. Deal with whom you are comfortable.

Is ABD charging for JUST the mods, and you supply the watch? Or are they selling it as a package deal, ie: pay them and they will acquire a watch and mod it before shipping it to you?

So many folks kept asking me how thick it is, so I bought a thing from Amazon and measured it. Not guaranteeing accuracy or if I somehow managed to use the tool improperly.

Im surprised by your measurement. I was under the impression Z factory version was 18mm+.

Depends on the work. I had a R8 AP Tourbillon and asked Aurasash to replace the faux sapphires with vvs diamonds. They can do anything and everything.


Separately, I updated the thread with the new models. Any additional facts/things I missed, just let me know guys. Facts only, please. I'll edit and add more details later.

Hey bro, I understand your concerns and your desire to protect this community. It is commendable. But to call ABD a "scammer" is a step too far. Let's break it down then.

Price/Ordering/Delivery
As stated previously, I have spent over $12K with Aurasash for a variety of items, not just watches. I have received every single item. Did I overpay for some of these items? Yes/probably/definitely. Does that make Aurasash a scammer? No. Not even close.

I am fairly certain I was one of Aurasash's best customers. But for many others, seemingly over just one transaction, he has gone above and beyond, offering replacements, rectifying issues, free shipping, etc. I have never received any of these benefits or favorable treatment, for the record. Not even close--I never even get any QC pictures from him, the watch just shows up at my door one day and I'm left to hope for the best. Not a great look to a loyal customer like me. Scammer though? Definitely not.




Deliverables
If you pay for services or goods, you expect those services performed and goods received, right? These are called "deliverables". Here are some examples from my personal transactions w/ Aurasash:

JBF RM001 and EURF RM027
When none of the TDs could get these watches, only Aurasash could get it, and at a fraction of the TD price to boot. My RM001 isn't perfect, some minor imperfections, but whatever, it's not like I'd ever send it back to China. Again, it would have been nice to get QC pictures prior to shipment. Maybe he does this for his other clients, but not for me.

ABD "Z" Factory
Everything I paid for, I got--the watch w/ mods, the rubber strap, and the velcro strap.

R8 Tourbillon
Paid for vvs diamonds. Took much much longer than expected, like two months more, for a total of three months, but in the end I got the watch--I posted a pic on another thread, anyone can find it if they so desire. Verified by gemologist to be vvs diamonds. The original rep was faux blue sapphire. No QC pics, just showed up at my door one day for my signature. Lucky for me I don't have a 9-5 I guess.

JBF RM053-01
  • Modded Bezel
  • Full cleaning and polishing of the movement
  • Polishing the faux plates
  • Change of mainspring to eta mainspring
  • Removal of deco plate to expose mainspring
  • Replacement of gold wheel w/ gen style wheel
  • Screw color to gen color
  • Custom velcro strap (stated same material as gen)
Of just these four transactions (and there were many more), there is only one line item that could be considered controversial. ABD did this wheel mod since early Q4, and JBF included this as an improvement for their v2 in mid Q4. The timing could be considered suspect, if you decide to follow a certain narrative.

Alternatively, it would not be a stretch that the factory producing this wheel was approached by JBF and now that factory is making the wheel for JBF. Or, another speculation could be that JBF simply cloned the ABD part. Many possible explanations. For example, if the JBF v2 wheel is more gunmetal than the ABD wheel, then it's clear they are different, right?

Over this one mod, which could be explained legitimately a variety of ways, to call ABD a "scammer" is trigger happy at best.

And lastly, you will notice I refer to this specific dealer as Aurasash, and not "ABD". The two have been conflated and are essentially synonymous on this forum; I will leave it at that. Trust me, to write so much for the benefit of you members will surely cost me greatly any remaining relationship I have with Aurasash. I'm just so over all this drama, cloak and dagger over some replica f*cking watches for God's sake.
