you were probably told this because it is not lucrative for them to deal with this kind of pickiness. Maybe you should give it a try... Come on it is "handmade" - even the gen ;)

I've been buying reps for quite a while and can recognize what's reasonable and what isn't - straight, aligned indices are not too much to ask for :)

In any case, if you look through this thread there are very few reps for which this is not an issue

Got my WG 5296 today. Breathtaking replica and most importantly amazing watch. It is a great illustration of all the progress made by makers. It's not cheap but believe me it's worth every cent. I wish the lug-to-lug was a few mm shorter, but that's how Patek designed it.

Will post pics.

hey guys I am looking to get a strap from Camille Fournet for my 5296, can someone advice me which exact one I should get that would fit the rep in terms of sizing? Do I need to buy an extra set of spring bar/pin?

In terms of look, I'm hoping to get one the same as the OEM, black glossy alligator I'm guessing?

Have never bought from Camille Fournet before, so any advice is appreciated!

I was going through this all day yesterday. Strap has to be tailor made due to the 21/16 size. You are looking at around 300 euros Which made me think more than twice. For me i will wait to check the watch and strap quality before i decided to spend that much. Mine is pending QC. Good luck

what gabro said.. it needs to be custom made as they do not have the size of the strap available, that will bring the cost to around 300 euros. that's what I have paid for mine.

Is there a consensus on which is the more popular model, RG or SS?

Side by side I genuinely can’t decide which I prefer. I thought I preferred RG but not so sure after seeing this:

But then I come back to this one...

I prefer the RG but will buy the SS . REASON gold plated watches change colour , rub and patina , it becomes obvious they are not solid gold. Polished SS looks far more like white gold and stands up to the rigours of wear much better . The RG looks wicked though .

Well, I got myself the RG one as I like it more than the SS, but now I'm in a bit of a pickle...

Somehow a tiny mark has appeared on the bezel (around 11). It's not even a scratch, but it's pretty obvious depending on lightning and view angle. Now if it was SS I would just get some cape cod and it would be gone in two or three rubs as it's pretty superficial.

But being RG I don't dare touch it with cape cod as I am worried about getting the plating off which would make it worse. So here's some food for thought.

Here's a pic, to showcase what I mean:

And a closeup, just in case:

Uggh that sucks, hincimincli. Will your td accept it back? I can’t think of another way to fix it
It's been a month since I had it, and it wasn't there when I bought it so I don't think he will, haha. It's 100% my fault, but I can't imagine where or how did it happen. I don't wear it often and I don't even drink so I should remember, lol!

Might try the Cape cod inside the case back and see how far can I go. Worst case I can try asking Toro for just a bezel.

Try using Tarn-X or something similar, a nonabrasive tarnish remover. Just a suggestion.

GF thanks for the input. In your opinion, does shelling out another 300 euros - almost the same cost of the rep justify the extra quality of the strap? I've never seen a CF strap in person so I'd like more perspective before making a decision! Thanks!
