Hi all,
First review here I believe of the v2 2836. Arrived super fast from InTime and was accepted on first QC. The watch arrived today in it’s plastic Rolex delivery box which is a nice touch. The moment I seen the watch through the Perspex box I was convinced I had been sent a genuine watch by accident haha ! In previous Sub C reps the biggest flaw was the poor AR on the cyclops. That now is near perfect and offers that trade mark black hole effect. Don’t get me wrong it’s no way near as good as gen but let’s be honest for a £350 rep it’s bloody good !
The bracelet fit and finish is as good as the ARF Daytona and is equally as good as my gen PO. Crisp clicks on the buckles and glide lock offering a solid feel to the watch. After giving it a soak in soapy water it now feels smooth and less “metallic” if you know what I mean. Brushing and polishing I can not fault at all. Gen spec.
The bezel is very nice too. Crisp platinum infills in the letters and looks top top quality in my opinion. Can not fault this at all either. It sits flush to the bezel ring which also has been finished to the highest of standards. One thing to mention is the bezel assembly seems to be sat 0.7mm ish from the case. I’ve never noticed this on the gen but maybe someone else could shed some light on this ?
Dial is good on this one. Nice print and lume application. Very tidy and I would say again gen spec. You get that domeing effect around the centre hole and date window which as mentioned many times, it’s current on the gen also.
Rehaut. Now this is the one and only thing that bugs me a little. The engraving quality is nice but the alignment of the ROLEX varies in position. Between 11 o’clock and 2 o’clock the alignment is good. The Rolex crown is slightly off but not by a huge amount. Out side this the alignment is almost half a letter out. This isn’t a massive issue as it still looks nicely done but really could be better.
The A2836 movement feels fantastic. Nice winding action and has a solid feel in all positions. The crown unscrews nicely on and off the tube. The crown it’s self no longer has those machine marks in the flutes which finished the watch off lovely.
The pictures below feature my Gen PO, ARF Daytona, ZF GMT, ZF Bronze BB. Just for reference of quality.
