U.K.
I’m Not sold on the ZZF, from the pics and that video posted a little further back I think the ARF subs look better in the finer details and fit and finish. Something is off with the hands on the ZZF, date mag isn’t any good (like all reps) Date font is Weird.

Need to get one in hand.

I’ve had them all including gen and modding aside this is more aesthetically closer than arf and Noob. Arf just feels thick and clumsy. The hands are best on arf but these are well finished but not quite as 3D as arf. Lume is better on zzf.
Just my view of course but this is my favourite subc rep so far. Hopefully I can pick up a gen shortly to compare. Never have one when I need one!!!

Also that video is the V1 date version and the V2 is streets ahead.

I appreciate your opinion of course, this is why I want in hand. I too have had all the reps (gave up on Sub reps) I don’t own gen but two of my close pals have gen subs.

Get some daylight pics geezer, it’s sunny tomorrow. Haha

That’s another users pic, but they updated the dials a while back.

Interesting because the pictures of the V3 show the old layout with 6 and 9 markers not rounded. Strange.

Recently had a v2/v3 transitional hulk and LN bith dial were like the pic I posted, they changed near the end of the run of the v2

Dude, you’re in the wrong forum. This isn’t Reddit, posting qc pic the way you have isn’t allowed here. You’re not allowed to ask members to qc your watch for you. You can ask about a specific concern you have.

I posted before but nobody replied and got lazy to paste all the content. And this is a sub about the zzf v2, so when you posted with arf v3 it seemed that it should be a separate sub, so that's what I put.

I was concerned about the cyclops wondering if it looked straight or any other flaws but wasn't getting any help

And from what I read the no date has 2824 movement, 2836 is for the 116610

Has anybody heard of a ZZF v2 114060 coming out?

With the updated rehaut and hands that watch would basically need no mods. Maybe teeth swap, rehaut polish, gen xtal gasket (for whiter color).

I think the key to these looking so gen is the rehaut height and angle allowing light to flood the dial making it look circular and up at the surface of the xtal as opposed to other case shapes that cast shadows which make the dial look oval and more deep behind the crystal

If the update is the same as on the 116610, the rehaut engraving is still misaligned and the crowguards are wrong unfortunately

Dunno why they cant make a decent rehaut - none of the factories make consistent straight rehaut - is it that hard??

Not even Rolex achieve perfectly centered rehaut on many of their watches.. So yeah, I assume it’s pretty hard to do

Nearer than you think
Not quite. There's gen rehauts that are slightly misaligned, but not to the extent that we're discussing here

i posted a pic somewhere of a very misaligned gen gmt. Sure, reps are more often misaligned, but sometimes gens can be as well.

i'd rather have them get the black hole effect right, or the shape of the lugs like gen and not boxy, than a very little not perceivable problem at wrist distance.

The issue is that this can't be easily fixed by modding. If you have a bad datewheel font or a bad crystal you can always mod them, even if that means it's gonna cost you more. Bad engraving, like fat lugs, are not that easily fixable if at all

sure, we agree on that, but my point was not this. I personally believe that it would be better to have a stock rep with perfect black hole crystal, dw, and ZZF's rehaut, rather than perfect rehaut and crappy crystal, fat/wrong font dw, and whatever.

i'd be quite salty to still have to put on a gen crystal and dw in 2020, man, you could buy another amazing rep for that price

I understand. I guess it's just a question of what you can live with, whether it's rational or not. Bad rehaut for me is a no no. For others it may be irrelevant

Yeah, i personally can live with stuff that is very small and that is not out of tune with the whole watch. On the other hand, i can spot a black hole at wrist distance, hell, you can even spot it in a youtube video from several feet away from the wearer (you can see it from 3:57 onwards for the whole video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q1nvIoeiFY&t=12s )

i wonder when the factories will get it right.
