Here are some photos of my upcoming article. Unfortunately I cannot load photos directly into posts so description is above the link.
In day to day life, these differences are practically not noticeable, so getting hung up about them or worrying about them is moot. Only someone that owns a gen, and knows what to look for will distinguish one from the other if no reference is available.
Although reps are pretty close by eye as I have found, it's all in the details. Unfortunately I do not have a macro lens, so this serves as something someone might pickup with good eyesight or a magnifying glass in everyday situations.
Clasp crown & bracelet screws
Although with the naked eye, very difficult to really see any difference. Once under a loope the differences are quite obvious. The gen is crisp, the lower oval is more oval. The inside of each crown arm is smooth compared to the rep. The crown balls are rounder. Rep bracelet screws are not as refined as gen.

Case and bezel:
Polishing on the gen is immaculate. Not so much on the rep
Bezel teeth on gen are rounded and slightly smaller, rep are rougher. Also gen teeth are further from the edge of the insert than rep. Rep teeth are cut deeper.
Lug radius on gen is more even. Rep seems to be a bit random although very minor.

SEL & Bezel platinum inserts:
Gen numbers on bezel insert are lighter in color, and a fraction wider. Under high magnification, the actual platinum layer is also smoother. The black glossy color of the bezel insert under any light is virtually indistinguishable.
SEL on rep is pretty good, however on the gen it is rounded off more towards the end leading to the first link where as the rep seems to flatten out.
Also of note in this pic is the inside radius of the Crown guard on the case. On gen it is round and forms part of a circle, whereas the rep is tapered towards the crown itself.
Another never discussed point on the bracelet is that the gen is 0.2mm thicker and just feels beefier, thus the watch overall is 10g heavier with the same amount of links attached.

Rehaut Font:
As discussed many times before, the Serial number font is way off on a rep. The ROLEX font is closer but still off. Take a note of the 'O'. gen is elongated, rep is round. The laser engraving on rehaut is off compared to gen which looks sandblasted rather than laser etched and slightly rough. Yes, on gen it used to be laser etched, but on previous or other models. On the Sub it is very smooth.
