So why would anyone buy the actual v3 considering no one clocked ZZF was using 316 on the v2s anyway?

And if the ARF bracelet was only ever in 904, why would the maker start using 316 for this one instead?

I'm guessing these don't have ARF bracelets.

It would be easier if Jtime just listed exactly what is different on the junior versions to reduce confusion and to possibly reduce the likelihood is unsatisfied customers. Less headaches for everyone involved to be honest.

I mean if what he said is correct then this is a no brainer - who would pay a $100 premium for 904*?

* alleged.

Its seems a bit confusing right now its almost 200 USD difference with V3 (and both ETA and VR movements are available) and if its only 904L ARF bracelet you get additionally with V3 than these are a really good deal.

Claps code is D3R so these are not the old C4R bracelets.

Thats called pricing strategy for starters. Businesses would like to test the willingness to pay by the customers, if you wanna pay 200 less then you belong to a lower tier package of the same brand. If you are willing to shell out more, then you are a premium paying customer, a.k.a VIP customer in China....

Yup. But for a good rep which I don’t rock on a daily basis I am happy to pay less.

Price-Performance-Ratio is much better with the juniors than the V3. And maybe I am a bit pissed about buying a 114060 V3 instead a Junior now ???? Junior is much cheaper.

If the difference really is just 904 / 316 then you just $200 less smart. a.k.a DUMMY everywhere...

Paying less or more is totally dependent on the customers WTP. There’s nothing dumb or smart about it. Rolex was able to sell 904L story for over 5 decades and people do believe them. The only practical use of 904L steel is for the underwater columns construction, for a wrist watch there’s absolutely no difference.. Just like people(one scientist) from new Zealand took what used to be a pig feed and renamed as Manuka honey and sold that to brits several decades ago. Now it is the most expensive honey on the planet..

Essentially you are paying $200 more for an ARF bracelet and the promise of the whole watch being 904L steel. A promise that was made for the previous iterations, and a promise that has serious claims of untruthfulness...

I bought a v2s not because it was 904L but because the features in which still surpasses its competitors by that time appealed more to me (crystal/cyclops, SEL fitting, use of an ETA clone, etc). I was pissed off to find that probably it wasn't 904L (I'm sorry but I also don't believe 100% the claims of it being 314L). But I can 100% tell you that the kind of steel was not in that equation. I don't give a damn whether they use the steel that Rolex uses in their watches, or the steel that Patek and Audemars use in theirs, instead.

But I do give a damn once I see they could have sold the watch for $288, oh yes I do.

I think for the price it’s a good option, if I dont like the bracelet I order an ARF one,
