Just saw new release of this watch on puretime. Looks like ZF.

But Stupid release seconds at 9 oclock..

Good god, that's such a mindf**k that they would think people would guy a rep that's so blatantly flawed

V2 will fix this, but will have an issue that was correct in V1

I'll trade me balls if that doesn't happen

As far as gens go, this one isnt horribly pricey if you can find a good discount compared to some of the rolex models... for me personally, Im planning on going gen with this one but then getting the Mk XVIII spitfire from XF. That said I'm also looking for a gen Mk XVIII Miramar so who knows what I'll end up with...

I have just placed an order.
I don't mind the sec @9 instead of @6,
You would have to compare it 1:1 next to the gen to really realize the difference.
Anyway I do never pretend to have the gen... and nobody cares or asks questions anyway.

For me, other factors are more important: finish, overall quality and aestehetics, the size, colors, subdial details, hands, markers etc.
And this looks all damn good to me, and for a reasonable price too.
I will post some pics as soon as I get it.

I wonder how the factorys decide how close to gen theyre going to make their reps. In this case, obvious flaw being the subdials. But they wouldnt make it if it wouldnt sell, so I wonder how much of the market is uber anal like a few of us and how many belong to the MEH fraternity and say fuggitall and go for it.

Most people wont tell the difference. And most of them havent seen the gen.
And some people dont bother the flaws.

Bigger market watches are shipped to Thailand and Singaphore an phillipenese. Then it got spread out towards europe by travellers.

We are only a small portion... but very important one. Because we give our opinions on product they develop to be more and more desirable.


The new movement will be reppped for sure. The all next warches of IWCs are using this new one. So expect modified valjox or even a true rep movement.

Just if Kuvarsit will jump to rep it. They will sell like hotcakses

Ok, so I got mine today...and I'm very positively surprised!
The size is 41mm as per gen, and just perfect for my wrist. The bronze case looks amazing, and the dial too ! The crystal has improved, compared to previous ZF-pilots: now with much better AR.
The rep strap is a rep strap, but it does look nice and the colour has improved too (now darker). Date alignement is good too.
If the running sec would be at 6 (as per gen), this would be a super-rep out of the box. Check out the pics, and please feel free to leave a comment.

Thanks for the size comparison, I always find these posts extremely useful.
Your new pilot looks great. I wish they could release a 41mm pilot watch with a moderate thickness.

Out of curiosity, did you forget to reset the stopatch?

Yes, I forgot.
Chrono and reset work just fine.
