ZF Retro Revival: Tudor Black Bay 1958 GMT "COKE Bezel" Watch

The new Black Bay 1958 GMT features a classic 39mm case with a reduced thickness of 12.8mm, nearly 2mm thinner than other models. Inspired by Tudor’s 1958 7924 dive watch, it showcases vintage design elements.

The black-and-red aluminum bezel, nicknamed "COKE bezel" for its resemblance to Coca-Cola’s colors, exudes a nostalgic charm. The domed matte black dial is accented with gold-tone hands, markers, and indices, complementing the bezel. Tudor's signature "snowflake" hour hand is featured, along with a second time-zone hand with a matching snowflake tip pointing to the COKE bezel.

All markers and hands are coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® for excellent nighttime visibility. The riveted three-link stainless steel bracelet includes a convenient "T-fit" clasp for easy micro-adjustments.

Produced by ZF.

Been waiting for this...keen to see how these turn out!
Yeah I don't have any GMT in my collection and tried this genuine piece at an AD.

At the moment I was trying Grand Seikos and an IWC at the same time and I couldn't get past how tiny the date looks on this model.

Hopefully the rep is good enough for me to try to wear it and see if the date bothers me too much or not!

ZF are experts at getting the second version spot on! Very excited about this, can never really pull the red off on wrist but in press shots it looks amazing! Always been a fan and will be picking it up for sure.

Hmm...I think I'll wait for V2, I can live with a minor flaw or two, but there are several issues with this that would drive me nuts.

Not to mention some sloppy finishing in their "press" shots - Gotta be doing better, but that's me being picky.

that crown is CHUNK
A little sloppy overall. Bezel numerals, hands, crown. When we see Clean vs Gen and then ZF vs Gen we see the difference between a high end clone and maybe a midish end one.

Good enough on wrist but side by side... some flaws pop

I don't think it's being picky to be fair...there are a few fairly noticeable issues with this one for me

Yeah it's not great...the dial print looks crap next to the gen, also the DW font is completely wrong as well.

The skinny flat dial print, thick bezel print, massive crown and greenish lume on the hands has ruined this one for me, hopefully V2 doesn't take too long and addresses at least some of the flaws!

Side by side, yes. A pity because the quality of the print is usually good on ZF, it's the thickness/body that is lacking. But my biggest gripe, which they never corrected in any of their issues, are the flat hands, and also for an easy guy like myself, they bother me, they make it look cheap.

What's the movement on this? (True GMT?)
Also curious on the thickness.

The worst part for me is the dial printing and the huge crown.
The bezel index's could be smoother but that's not too bad for me.
The already small datewheel seems to have even smaller numbers too smh...

Yeah I'm not sure about this. Was that comparo put out by a ZF rival to show all the obvious flaws? Lol. Granted, still looks like a nice watch, but the flat dial printing and the wrong font kills me.

I have a black/gilt BB58 that I got M2M that's beautiful but I am often tempted by a "new V2" version to see what improvements they made. All in all, ZF stuff still seems very "reppy" to me, as opposed to some of the VSF/CF big R and Omega offerings.

Given the ICHS it's likely a 2836 like the rest of their GMT's, which is not a true GMT as we know.

The crown really sits out, I dunno what it is, but it just seems to protrude more and I can't unsee it. Maybe it's the red? I dunno, nice first attempt though
