I will order this once available. Looks so much better than the old version with non working pr. I am just worried if I need my genuine 500901 once I get this...

Finally it is out!
Please make a comparison before you sell the gen one:greedy:

Wow!! Only possible flaw is the concentric circles like the Porto models being slightly wrong but the rest is impressive!!!

So where does one get good quality pilot straps in a variety of materials (ie. calf leather, croc, etc)? Don't want to drop $500+ on a gen strap.

I would go to Orloff for a $100 croc pilot strap. For $35 Im getting this from vietnam to go with the BP petite prince.

The A23J movement is no good. With a long second hand you need a high beat movement. It's a no from me.

Seen a Video of this watch and the beat rate of the seconds hand is fine!

Comparing videos of the gen and this ZF the movement looks very similar. How it compares in real life, I'm not sure.

Closed caseback, shouldn't matter as much as say the 5001's.... But even so, on my wrist nobody ever sees the movement on my watches [emoji41]

I want this watch, it would need a new strap though.

Uhhhh the struggle is real. 5004 big pilot was "the" watch that got me into reps. Never picked it up because of the faux reserve and helicopter rotor. Now it's a must. BUT. The petite prince version is tempting. Good thing with that one is usually the calf straps from the factories are usable (would probably want a navy croc pilot strap eventually). Where as the 5009 black dial will require an immediate strap change. Best bang for buck option is orloff (Google red lining big pilot strap I saw him make one 2 or 3 years ago for a guy, wow!) or up from there to Hk tan. If I remember correctly orloff starts around 150ish with shipping.
decisions decisions. Thoughts?
