Yuki 3135 movt rebirth!!!

Would love to see a tare down and comparison of the Y3135 vs SH3135 vs SA3135

This has been fairly well covered but there is a factory (likely in Shanghai - hence the SH) that builds these movements. Yuki was buying them sterile and at some point JF starting buying and fully engraving them. They are fundamentally the exact same movement.

JF has gone further in getting a true 3130/32 clone as well so it's got 2 crown positions and no date works. (Explorers, OPs, etc)

As for then original question. Yes a Yuki or SH can be converted to a 3185 by adding about $600 in gen parts. I've done a few but have to get the parts from misiekped anyway so feel free to check with him. Good luck!

You ask for a teardown, do you have any technical knowledge? If yes you can do it yourself. If no, there's no need as you wouldn't understand the differences. Long story short, Yuki/SH can any gen 3135 part, except for main plate and balance (which occasionally works,but not always).

SA3135 doesn't accept any gen part, except for the reverse wheels on the auto-winding mechanism.

Both movements have been proven to be fairly stable after getting serviced, with the difference that for SA3135 there are no parts available, so you just throw it to the trash bin, while SH/Yuki can be fixed with gen parts.

Im curious how can one tell if these movements aren't just SA3135 movements and what real advantage is there over the asian clones? Wish you had a detailed breakdown and review.

You can tell by looking at it after you've studied the two side by side.

Engravings are spelled right. It was only a batch that had wrong engravings
