Your item was handed over to Customs(UNITED STATES OF AMERICA USORDA) at 2007-07-09 21:06:00

This doesn't mean seized, does it? It just means that Customs is checking it out. Right? It's been awhile since I've received an EMS shipment.

It is standard procedure...
Anything shipped in from outside the US goes into (handed over to) customs...
Gets looked at (maybe)
and then out of (released from) customs

Don't worry unless it sits as "handed over to customs" for more than a few days....
if they seize a shipment it will either stall at "handed over to..." for many days followed by a letter to your address... or it will update as "seized by customs" followed by a letter.

Don't worry yourself at all at this time.
I've had pretty good experiences with US Customs... usually mine goes into customs and shows cleared out of customs within a few hours.

It simply means that the boys will x ray the package....if they are having a slow day they'll open it....if one of them fancies a new Cousteau or a Chopard (currently the favourites with customs) they'll take it out put it on and discard the packaging. If they are pissed off they'll send you a little note with a tax invoice. So, don't worry.

I would venture to guess that you will be getting your package the next day.

That's if the boys aren't having either a slow or pissed off day....still here's hoping.

basically there gonna keep your watch for a few hours, wear and take a few wrist shots, maybe tax you that depends on how impressed he/she is with your watch, release it then post the wristshots on this forum in the eyecandy section so look for it. 8)

Patience is the best strategy . . .and don't put a ton of weight on the tracking information, I have not known it to be reliable yet on overseas shipments.

Just what is the watch? Hopefully not IWC or Chopard, usually posted in eye candy within 24 hours...I'll keep a look out for it.

I think my previous tracking has stated "inbound to customs" and "outbound from customs". I don't think I have seen "turned over to customs".

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I hadn't noticed that.....'turned over to customs' can spell bad news. I had that once and had to flee the country for a short time after some mysterious calls in the middle of the night. Still, not to worry.

your right. If it's EMS, it'll show "Inbound into Customs" and "Outbound from Customs" on usps.com. My watches usually take 12-24 hours to transition from one to the other.

The only time I saw "Handed Over To Customs" was once BEFORE my watches left China. Apparently, the Chinese customs officials randomly check the outbound stuff (I guess they take wrist shots too??? - or is it that they make fun of how much we pay for fakes?). What do they check for? Possibly plasticized cat food!

'Should be' being the operative word!

The watch still has to sneak past customs in the USA.....with their high tech x ray, sniffer dogs, experience of small packages from China etc.

Let's hope the guys in customs had a good night  , the sun is shining, the kids got good reports, the bank has extended the loan, the car wasn't repoed, etc.

All being well the watch will sail through and be deliverd with no repurcussions.....fingers crossed.
