Well the good news is that you can grab a nice Sellita and change it straight away, ha. Not sure about pinion height, though. And jokes aside, the deco plate is no big deal as the other option would be just an eta clone. My only concern is the thickness, is it 15mm as Trusty says, or 13mm as InTime says? Who knows!

Yes, but we have seen many times before, they can make a good deco plate. If they would have made a convincing looking plate, that is pleasing to look at, id be all over it. It has two end-cap jewels for goodness sakes...looks terrible.

You are absolutely right. I was just trying to be a bit positive but that deco plate is without exaggeration the worst I have seen during my more than ten years of experience in this hobby. By far. I wonder if it’s difficult to just pry it off and leave the original movement with the ugly rotor.

Yah I agree! They just made it a big deal on the release and that feel flat on its face. Looks hideous!

I mean hell they cloned a 4130. This can be that difficult!!

Well it's a 100h power reserve caliber... I'm sure it's not pretty straightforward either. It took years for Noob to clone the 4130 and moreless the same for most factories to get the 3135 right (remember the ridiculously bad SA3135, which we had for quite some time). And these are calibers on really popular watches, so imagine putting all that effort on such a niche watch as a Blancpain.

I’m hoping the pics are some messed up prototype. It would be unusual for a modern rep to be this bad. I hope so anyway - I’ve waited so long for these 40mm...

I was never a big fan of this watch, but somehow I still like it. Could be dangerous. With the 40mm it could be pretty nice on my smaller wrist.

The lume appears not as dark as gen, though algih72's pics look darker than intime's.

I think it depends on the lighting conditions, only way to tell how good it is would be to see them side by side i think,
Given the limited number of gens that's unlikely to occur and so I won't lose any sleep over it

Is the date font for the “1” off?

looks like just a line for the “1” on the Hodinkee article pics of the gen in the teens, but on the rep pics is a standard “1” instead of a line.

I like it though and bit the bullet and ordered one.
