I currently have 6 watches in my personal collection. I've worked my way up to them, so now everyone of them is special in their own way. I also implemented my personal one-in, one-out policy, meaning, when I find a more desirable watch, I will sell one of my current watches.
I know some folks here have a huge amount of watches. I am not that hardcore. Ideally, I figure I need a watch for every occasion, and that would not even change if I had silly money. I just finished watching all 6 seasons of "Billions" on Showtime, and that got me thinking/day-dreaming:
If I had $100,000,000, which watches would I buy?
To make this simple, I want to keep our watch collection to 5 pieces. Money is of no concern, but you can't have more than 5 total:
1) a daily watch, most likely a sturdy sports watch, something that goes with everything except elegant clothing.
2) a watch for business occasions where you wear a blazer or a suit, and want to go low key, look like an average Joe.
3) a watch for black tie events where you interact with wealthy people. Even if you don't attend those, imagine you do. It would be an elegant watch.
4) a watch to show off. One that says that you made it. A watch you wear in Monaco when hunting for a young 'un to join you on your yacht.
5) a wild card. A watch that doesn't fit in. Something totally different.
Let this be fun, okay?
I'll go first:
1) Rolex Submariner "Bluesey" Reference 16630
2) Panerai Pre-V, 5218-201/A
3) Cartier Tank, 18K YG, black crokodile leather band
4) Rolex Day Date, 18K YG, President bracelet
5) Panerai GPF 2/56
Your turn!
