I know that there are many PO Frankens out here but since it's my first Franken project I thought I should post a few pics here.

Today I got the PO 5th gen from Sead. It came with the orange Omega leather strap which looked so horrible, that I removed it immediately.

I'm planing to change following parts:
  • gen dial
  • gen hands
  • gen tube & crown
  • ETA datedisk
  • crystal (already ordered from sunnydale)
  • gen bezel or aftermarket bezel insert
  • aftermarket strap

Only a real wis would know if that logo were real. If I were you, I would go with the gen crown, tube and sunny for now. Add the HE valve down the line. The pearl is better than prior models. You will love the gen rubber with white or orange stitch. That is where I would put my money. ;) Cheers.

Have fun with the build. They all look great when done.

Looks like you have a good base for a franken. I ordered the same watch from Mark and got something different. He said I was lucky to get a watch because they are all sold out. This a few months ago.

Good luck and keep us updated with the progress.

Cheers

Thank you for all your opinions on my little project. I'm still waiting for the crystal and a the gen crown & tube. I think that I will keep the rep dial for now and wait to see how it looks with the new crystal.

But I noticed that the gap between the dial and the date wheel seems to be quite big. Is it normal or can it be fixed?

Yes, can be fixed.

Here's a pic of mine (gen ETA, gen Dial, gen Hands and DW, H4 Cannion-pin Sunnydale-x-tal)

These are cracking watches.
Mines with Wiz at the moment.

Crown and tube definitely. I actually think the crystal is really good, wrong colour AR though I think.

Have fun with it and keep us posted :)

You need a thinner dial spacer. I sanded my DG4813 spacer just a little and it fit perfect.

Good to know that it's possible to fix. Today I received the crystal from sunnydale. It looks awesome.

Good to know that it's possible to fix.:

Well, if I may be honest, the H4's look way to tall to me but maybe your case needed it to bring the crown to the center of tube. You have a little bit of leeway in that respect. I would experiment a little. E for effort, again, only a Wis would know. ;) Good luck.

I finally got time to buy some more parts for this project. Ofrei shipped the gen dial yesterday, so it should arrive soon. First I wasn't so sure whether I should buy a gen bezel insert or an aftermarket one. Because of the big price difference I decided to try out the aftermarket insert first. I think it looks ok and I'll keep it for now. Maybe I buy the gen bezel later.

I found out that the movement bought as A2836 is actually a A2824-2. Not that it's bad thing I was just curious about what movement they really used. :)
