[XF] PAM217

Cool. Very much. It is always logical, having done 127, and doing 217. But for some reason, it is not always so. It seems that XF has big plans for the pump. If they decided to release even destro, albeit one of the most famous.

Caseback from 217, instead of fiddy will be sold in a special DIY hand maid kit,from TD, along with a polished CG for 088 and hands for 1314?:applause:
Yeah the case back is wrong. It’s from a Fiddy. 217 should be H series out of 1000 units.

What is up with these guys? I guess the latest releases are meant for those of us who know very little about these watches. Not the seasoned Panerai enthusiasts. Latest stuff is getting just sloppy. So disappointing.
Yes, also engraved serial number with nameplate and case number 6645.
I think, pixel_junkie, there are many reasons, and they are all in a complex :
- Fear of ordering more unique parts for "old editions", which are mainly needed by fans of the brand.
- An attempt to increase profits on these very "old issues", given that prices should remain +/- within the 2010-2015 range in order not to let go, while VSF with its complex models of the last couple of years has increased the average cost of rep panerai.
- Also, fans who are hungry for old school models, who certainly want to buy a new watch from TD, but are ready to turn a blind eye to a lot.
- And of course, the fact that the brand has changed the vector of development, and old collectors who know the brand well fell off, and in their place came many who still do not see and know everything, or want to understand.
In any case, I believe that these re-releases are aimed primarily at fans of the brand who understand panerai, know what the models look like and know what the rep quality can be. And to be honest, this is a rather insulting negligence towards them, which from "randomness", through "coincidence" turns into a "rule".
Although, what am I talking about ... "Who's looking at the backcase? In any case, this is a very beautiful and expected watch, enjoy it, especially for $ 400 and not for 10-20k".

That’s how I see it too. Going from microscopic differences to using completely wrong and large components...
I don’t know what percentage of buyers comes from these forums (assume pretty good number), they’re shooting them selves in the foot. You know every new model will get first dissected on here and rejected shortly after that thus killing a large number of potential sales.
Whats the point? If you do something, do it right and maximize on your profits.

I am tempted to pray for them to release a 605 and I know what is going to happen. I am going to spend $1000 trying to fix mine and the day it is done, they'll release it.
Thats what happened with a 000. I went crazy and spent a pretty penny trying to rebuild an old noob 000. The day I finished xf released it for about 1/3 of the price.

The likelihood of them (XF) fixing this is low to zero?
I doubt they'll do a v2 of these re-releases, unless they sell in their 1000s!!
Above, we also talked about the serial number. The year of the pam217 production series is 2003 and not 2002, because the H series, not E (although, sometimes they write that they were produced for 2 years)
Also 217 has a limit of 1000 pieces, not 1950
The engraving of the serial number should be on the die, and not just carved into the surface, you can look at photo 217, which was kindly provided Hazing .
The case number I wrote about is also different, because 217 and 127 are mirror models.
The watch number will probably have to be different, too, but I never had the patience to check it.

This is typical for every initial release bro, they do this on purpose fix things for the v2 and make more money from people double dipping for the upgrade. That's how they ACTUALLY maximize profits...
From qc it's a nice watch, mentioned the case back to dealer and he asked factory, Reply was they put wrong case back. The factory did mentioned they will correct for next version. Once again that was communication between factory and my dealer only.
I wait for the correct case .
