I think he meant the GAP around the screwed. Had notice it but didn’t brought it up since I have never seen a gen. May I ask what are you planning to mod with the 2 pieces? :)

They look fine to me - not as good as some, better than others, I wouldn't RL for this personally. I have two on order and will be fine if they are like yours.

I don't know so much about APs but in the last week I've looked at about photos and videos of about 50 gen 15202s close up.

Dude that’s the thing, I think most of the people here tend to compare with pictures of a gen instead of having them on hand, And give comments that actually should have the slightest or no concern for anyone. For me personally I only take feedback when someone had it compared side by side. The overall feeling of a rep close to gen like is my priority.
Anyway it’s seems like an awesome watch, can’t wait for you to receive yours :)

I’ve got the 15450 and 15400 and they’re slightly too small and too big for me respectively. I had a 15300 by BP, but the build quality wasn’t on par with JF’s offerings

I was wondering, what version of the 15450 do you have? I love the RO series but have teeny tiny wrists. I think when I last measured my wrist size was 6.25 - 6.5". I'm wondering if this 15202 or the 15450 would be a better fit.

EDIT: As a comparison, I wear a Daytona pretty comfortably, but find subs to sit kinda chunky. I'm about to pull the trigger on the BVF two toned 35mm Santos too, love the way it sits.

Mine arrived just now.

First impressions are good. Bracelet feels a bit rough, will give it an oil bath which will hopefully improve the feeling somewhat.

Dial colour is very good. Looks dark blue in natural light, very hard to capture on pictures. Not to shiny like the 15400 dials.

Watch feels very light. It’s ridiculously thin. Date function works flawlessly. Date font is spot on. Bezel screws are good, but the bezel cutouts for the screws are a little rough, although very hard to spot with the naked eye.

Rotor is very well done, but has some slight play and slaps the glass case back when shaken up and down. The tolerances are very tight.

All in all, a great first attempt, certainly the best rep 15202 currently available. This is a keeper for me. I love it, think I prefer it to my ZF aquanaut.

I’ll post some pics up later when I’m home.

As soon as I’m home I’ll take some pictures

Hey buddy, glad yours has arrived already. I have the feeling many members are waiting for real life photos to decide. I personally feel this is great either way but can see why others have doubts. I have one request - can you pls take a photo under a slight angle against any source of light (sun is out of the question I guess with today’s light rain :). My gen 15202 dial is a very dull blue until light hits the dial under an angle when it literally starts radiating some very electric blue hues. I’m curious if the factory managed to achieve that effect. Thanks!

And of course, do enjoy your timepiece. It’s my favourite AP!

Thank you very much! I think that given what you highlighted, I will likely remachine the screw head/slot to align them in their individual slots.
As for the rest of the mods, I am not sure yet as this is a first time for me, but potentially:

1. Case thinning
2. Rotor silence
3. Realignment of crooked markers/logo if need be
4. Realignment/recess/polish of the bezel screw heads. (As mentioned, these are not screws per se, but actually bolts with decorative screw heads)
Im waiting for your finished XF. Then i will send watch straight to you from the factory

I have quick question. I saw the engraved case back suppose to be Royal Oak instead as N°, right? Or is it other version of Gen?

Right, firstly apologies in advance gents for the terrible photos, I’m no photographer, as you’re about to see.

The dial is a lovely dark blue in reality, it doesn’t photograph well. Looks dark blue in the normal light as in the 1st and last 2 pics. The other pics are taken in a strong artificial white light, it’s blue sunburst but has a slight grey tint to it I’d say when under the strong light.

The only issues I can see is the bezel screw machining on the bezel isn’t perfect. A bit rounded and sloppy on the corners. Hard to see without looking very closely. I’ll sort those with an escapement file, just sharpen up the corners. The polished bevel on the bezel is also at to steep an angle slightly, this is what’s making the screws seem to close to the other bezel edge IMO.

The hands are good effort, but the bevelling on the pinions is non existent to the naked eye. Having said that, they’re rep hands on a $500 watch. You obviously can’t expect AP levels of finishing at this price.

Hand lume and dial lume are different shades. One looks to be C3 the other C1. Not the end of the world and an easy enough fix if you so desire.

Date font = great effort.

I’m also impressed by the rotor it’s very well done, seems to have a decent weight to it. Although it needs oiling/silencing and it free spins like an Apache helicopter.

Bracelet feels a bit rough when flexing it about. Nothing that an ultra sonic clean and an oil bath won’t fix. Link screws are stiff as fuck, managed to get them out but for god sake use the proper size screwdriver, you will butcher them if not. They’re gen construction, push pins covered by a screw in cap. A horrific idea from AP, but oh well. Clasp snaps shut nice and tight, engravings inner and outer are great.

It’s thin, 8.4mm on my callipers including front and back crystals.

Someone mentioned the case back engraving at the top that has No.xxxx instead of Royal Oak. I’ve seen gens like this also, no idea if it’s period correct to an I series, I suspect not, it may be from the first generation 15202.

tosoboso hopefully those pics capture the light, it’s difficult here today as it’s cloudy, and the only lights in my house are all ridiculously bright white LEDs.

The pics above make the dial look grey. It isn’t it’s blue, incredibly difficult to capture. Will probably look different to every person viewing it according to their screen settings. It’s a dark dull blue normally, sunburst blue with the light hitting it.

Here’s a better pic:
