I have a 6"-6.25" wrist, and am a male. I like big dials, but dont want things to get overbearing. I am wearing a tissot prc200 right now its 40mm in diameter, would I be correct in saying 42mm watches are probably the limit for me?
Furthermore, a lot of watches I find on the replica site I cant find the actual watch when looking for a genuine copy. Besides google images/the manufacturers website is there a better way?
You'll get differing opinions from different members on this. My personal belief is that for your wrist size, 42mm is probably going to be your limit. My own wrist is 6.5", and I can only just wear 44mm, and then, only in certain brands. One thing to bear in mind is that different brands will wear differently on your wrist. For example, I can't wear a 44mm PAM Luminor at all. Looks like a clown watch on me (and it's not just my opinion--on the rare occasions when I've tried one on, everyone who sees me thinks it looks silly). Other watches of the same size, however, I can wear with no problem. I have a Hublot Big Bang which is 44.5mm, and I wear that all the time. It has to do with the design of the case and the band.
If you're looking for good images of the genuine watch, honestly, your best bet most of the time is going to be ebay. Just type in the name of the watch you're interested in, and if it's a modern and a popular watch, probably about 50 auctions will come up. And the pictures, in general, will be very good. Barring that, one of the largest watch retailers on the net is
http://www.jomashop.com.
If you're concerned about how a watch is going to wear on your wrist, I would look in your local phone book for a high end watch dealer. Go there and try on whatever watch you're interested in. It's the only way to be sure. Of course, there may be some brands you won't be able to find at all unless you live in a larger city (Hublot, Ulysse Nardin, Patek Phillipe, etc.). But I'm sure you'll have a Rolex and Omega and Breitling dealer somewhere around town.
