Well because of the Crown Guard you can only really turn the Crown about half of a full turn before the CG stops your fingers when you wind it. I started doing about 60 winds then went to 90 turns and then finally became comfortable with the 120 turn solution over a period of a week, when I got my Fiddy about a year ago. I know it gets scary when you receive your 1st manual wind watch and you are afraid your are going to break it. Every watch is a little different, but believe me you will feel the crown getting harder to turn as you get close to a full wind. But you need to fully wind it.
