Just gotta this watch with the defect shown in the attached. Would u send back to the china factory and wait for 2 weeks to change the dial or live with it?
Is almost perfect except for this stain, very obvious under the sunlight.

I'd send it back or ask if they can source a replacement dial and have it installed locally. I think you are talking more like two months turn around plus customs risks both ways, do I'd prefer to get the dial.

Thanks for the reply, I have somebody to bring back to china and ship back at a low fee, but I was thinking if sending the watch back just to replace the dial will risk other failures with the parts, movement or scratches. I did request for a replacement dial but dealer told me the waiting time might be longer than sending back the watch to get it replaced instead.

Honestly I'd keep the watch in hand if possible and wait on the dial. If you send it back they will most likely exchange the watch vs obtain the parts, which is why the turn around will be faster.

Heres what you do. Buy another exact same one and QC it really hard. Wear this one till the new one arrives, when the new perfect one arrives, sell this one m2m with a slight discount to address the minor darkspot. This will prob cost you less in the longrun than paying shipping both ways and/or payimg someone to swap the dial out..stuff lile this happens all the time, its just part of the hobby...

I'd ask for a new dial. When it comes in, then you can decide whether or not to switch them out. If you decide to sell it later you'll be able to make it right.

I would just live with the watch.

It's not a terribly noticeable defect.

I would only send Watch back if it's doa or keeping poor time.

Was the mark on the dial on the QC?

There's a lot of what-ifs that could occur if you send it back. Take a look at this thread he sent back his Patek and it came back chipped scratched and bruised.

https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/i-am-done-with-intime.375607/#post-3494514

The 2nd attachment was the QC pic. At first thought was reflection from elsewhere. Is barely noticeable under normal lighting condition. It is my 2nd day wearing it, then only noticed it when I was admiring the watch at the traffic light while driving. I turn on my phone torch light and took a pic which is the 1st attached. Only noticeable at an angle under bright light.

I am also thinking of changing the dial myself if there is a proper guide.

Be sure the dealer sends a spare set of hands also. This way on the off chance you damage anything you have all the necessary pieces to send out to a watchsmith. May be a good Segway into watchsmithing.

My purpose of buying this watch is also to start exploring in depth while wearing the watch. The confident level drops after seeing that defect on a near-to-perfect rep

Any 6497 wath is very easy to mod and fix yourself. There are loads of tutorials on here and google and YouTube.

If it's your first time taking it apart you have nothing to worry about. Pams are fairly simple.

I had a marker fall off my AP diver and it was a pain to take apart.
But I did it and had no experience taking a watch apart before.

Don't let it sour you...even gens have flaws and issues, only difference is the ADs typically fix them before they put them out for sale. It'll get sorted out and the 6497 is a solid movement which should run for years if not decades unless you are the unfortunate one to get a lemon.

I'd ask for a replacement dial and then send it to a modder to be pressure tested and movement regulated and dial swapped. Won't cost that much and you'll be happy

I would do this too or get another watch entirely. But I'd take it a step further and ask the TD to include a replacement dial and hands for the defective one and include it in the replacement shipment. You could then decide to keep and fix or sell with it if you got the same watch.

Thanks everyone for the advices. I think meanwhile I will wait for TD to confirm a replacement dial before i decide what to do with the watch. I am really impressed with the quality of the noob version. If only the dial is perfect. :bang:

That's really unfortunate... Pams hardly have any problems with QC. I hope this works out for you OP, I agree with just asking the TD to get you a replacement dial and fitting it in locally.

Do not send it back it will take forever. Source a dial here on the forums and have a modder do the work for you PLUS relume !
