I have a gen mid SPO and a gen 38mm gold Bucherer (both are 16 and 30 years old respectively). Never wear them any more.
I also work with Bechtel corporation and there are a couple of guy's who sport their 25 year service awards...Which is a gold Rolex. Interesting side note the company changed their policy. Now if you want to go SS then you can get a women's and mens. Back to the point, the older guy's with 35+ years of service, are wearing the Explorer I...Which was a perfectly good choice 10 years ago. To me, they look like a women's watch by today's standards. The cool thing is that guys who own them really don't care. They love the watch and wear it with pride.
I personally don't wear a small watch well...7.5" wrist and 6'5" tall, and love the 44mm size.
